12/11/2005 10:55:28 PM
thanks man...I had a minor brainfart there
12/11/2005 10:55:38 PM
What is she?
12/11/2005 10:56:23 PM
I was told flat-coated retriever/husky...but I think she looks more like a retriever/shepherd
12/11/2005 10:58:13 PM
looks a lot like my German Shep when she was a puppy.
12/11/2005 11:01:51 PM
geeez, I let out an instantaneous AWWWWW....
12/11/2005 11:02:53 PM
she is the most laid back snuggly pup there is...lol but then when she plays she bounds around like a little deer! aha she's adorable! she's very curious and she loves to "paw" at Mojo (the mini pinscher chasing her in the 3rd pic) but when you pick her up she turns into a stuffed animal and just cuddles with you...AND she loves her crate!
12/11/2005 11:07:18 PM
Just what you needed...that's greatI want another dog I need a playmate for my Tessie when I'm gone during the day!
12/11/2005 11:23:18 PM
aww she's cutenot as cute as sprocket!
12/11/2005 11:56:11 PM
^^yes ma'am she most definitely fits the bill!^hehe how's my little sprocket doing!?
12/12/2005 6:06:59 AM
the third one is a priceless picture.
12/12/2005 6:12:57 AM
poor Dakota, frightened by the killer Mojo's play stance, hehe
12/12/2005 6:44:39 AM
i love puppies him sleeping on the stuffed bear is too cute[Edited on December 12, 2005 at 8:10 AM. Reason : .]
12/12/2005 8:09:29 AM
hehe yeah...and she went from pic#1, super hyper "you lookin' at me?', to pic#2, snoozing like a hybernating bear, in a matter of seconds [Edited on December 12, 2005 at 8:36 AM. Reason : ]
12/12/2005 8:36:36 AM
Your dog looks like a young Wolf.
12/12/2005 8:58:33 AM
aww I miss Wolfy! and Dakota does kinda look life Wolf, doesn't she? awww
12/12/2005 9:23:40 AM

The thread title and picture made me think of Canis Lupis
12/12/2005 5:27:02 PM
^^awwww hehe omg I remember when there were 12 of those guys. I still can't believe I found them all homes!! yay daschadors!^ok?
12/12/2005 5:36:27 PM
aww, how'd you convince the new landlady to let you have her?
12/12/2005 6:38:57 PM
I didn't go with that house...I'll find a place sooner or later, but for now, its not bad staying where I am b/c Dakota has a friend (the mini pinscher that already lived here)
12/12/2005 7:27:50 PM
AWWW! Such a sweetie! She looks a lot like my old dog Mudd did when he was a pup.
12/12/2005 8:28:18 PM
thanks!ps. is that a good or a bad ??
12/12/2005 8:32:38 PM
She's gonna pwn that little one pretty soon.
12/12/2005 9:44:26 PM
woah, my wife and I just got very similiar looking puppy 2 weeks ago as a playmate for our minpin! ours is a straight up Mutt his mother was a sheltie/huskie mix, and we think his dad had some german shepherd (looks like some rottie, but this was the only one in the litter this color)[Edited on December 12, 2005 at 9:57 PM. Reason : b]
12/12/2005 9:56:34 PM
haha look at that! yeah its funny b/c mojo, the mini pinch., has pretty much the same markings as my Dakota. I was told she was retriever/husky, but like you said about your pup, I swear she has some shepherd in her!!I was also told she won't get more than 40 lbs, and to tell you the truth, her paws aren't THAT big, but I do kinda hope she has a growth spurt
12/13/2005 12:28:04 AM
It was a good He was just a rascal. And that colorings actually common among several breeds, but mudd was supposedly lab/austrailian shepherd. Turns out he was aussie/chow with a tiny bit of german shepherd mayyybe.
12/13/2005 12:36:28 AM
yeah you are definitely right...it seems to be a very common coloration, second maybe to all black? I'm thinking it MIGHT be a little easier to tell once she gets a little bigger...maybe not, but I suppose we'll see
12/13/2005 6:47:01 AM
12/13/2005 7:09:16 AM
no kidding??!well honestly...I kinda hope she gets bigger I love dogs I can roughouse with, and I get nervous when I play with smaller dogs b/c I don't want to hurt them by accident! Duffy (my lab that passed away recently) was about 85 lbs and the PERFECT size to run around and "roughhouse" with.Dakota's paws aren't anywhere near as big as Duffy's where when he was a pup, but she does have a little growing room. I think the pics make her paws look bigger then they really are though, lol
12/13/2005 7:30:40 AM
12/13/2005 8:31:47 AM
what?? don't like the name? lol it came with her![Edited on December 13, 2005 at 8:40 AM. Reason : ]
12/13/2005 8:39:50 AM
that pup is adorable! congrats! I'm sure you'll be MUCH happier with a pup instead of a reptile
12/13/2005 9:44:34 AM
puppy pictures!!!! i've debated often getting Sabrina a playmate, but I just don't know if I can handle it...and also Sabrina likes to cuddle a lot. What if I got another dog that likes to cuddle? That's TWO dogs hogging the bed
12/13/2005 9:44:42 AM
^^omg you have NO idea! Not that I wouldn't have loved a bearded dragon...but I'm absolutely amazed at how much happier I am now that I have a little FLUFFY 4-legged friend that doesn't cuddle up next to me simply because she's exothermic and needs the heat!I gave her her very first bath yesterday...lol, poor girl is even fluffier today!!^Hmm...lets see what other puppy pics I can come up with (lol even though I should REALLY be focusing on my work!)
12/13/2005 9:49:20 AM
That's all for now...I MUST attempt to do some work Maybe I'll take her to the beach during one of our freak warm spells and snap some shots out there![Edited on December 13, 2005 at 10:17 AM. Reason : image]
12/13/2005 10:16:46 AM
OMG... CUTENESS!!
12/13/2005 10:41:32 AM
hehe thanks! I think I need to get some pics that don't make her eyes glow!
12/13/2005 10:44:13 AM
^ that's hard to do with a flash. I'd recommend going outside in the sun so you don't have to use it. dog and cat eyes glow really badly because of that film that helps them see in the darkyou probably already knew all that
12/13/2005 10:59:50 AM
hehe yeah...I've been trying to open up the blinds to let some natural light in the room, but it isn't enough to warrant turning the flash off. I'll get some pics of her outside...but its so dreary and cold right now that I think staying in the warmth of the house takes precedence
12/13/2005 11:04:13 AM
once it warms up a bit you can let her go frolic on the dunes - now those will be some priceless pics! just don't let her slide too much!(I really need to head to the outer banks sometime...when it warms up, of course)
12/13/2005 11:21:39 AM
aha I hadn't thought of the dunes...oooh good thinking! you're right, it is a bit chilly out (and windy today!) but when it gets warmer I'll be all geared up for priceless puppy pics! If you ever head out this way let me know...I'm sure Dakota would like to make a new friend!
12/13/2005 11:25:21 AM
attention: just wanted you all to know that she just learned how to go UP stairs ...lol...going down is a completely different story!
12/13/2005 9:59:40 PM
A shepherd-like puppy?I'm jealous.
12/13/2005 10:17:55 PM
yeah, that's what I'm thinking...she's so awesome
12/13/2005 10:20:27 PM
awwww (that's all I have to say )
12/13/2005 10:38:08 PM
12/13/2005 10:39:12 PM
You just needed to observe and learn how the dog lives for a few weeks.
