i have an old Avatar 4x12" guitar cab w/ 2 Celestion Vintage30s and 2 Celestion G12H-80s. Its a stereo cab with each one channel going to the V30s and one to the G12Hs in an X pattern. One channel is 8ohm the other is 16ohms. I like tis setup because A) i can play pretty much any amp into impedencewise B) have versatlity in sounds w/ the different speaks and C) i can run bbboth at the same time in parallel and have it all. They two types compliment each other nicely. The V30s are middy and punchy and break up nice and the G12H80s are more accented on the high and low ends and are smoother.I'll get some pics later, but the cab has a metal mesh grill and is ported. It was once a sealed cab but i ported the back and it really helps fill a room and takes some of the piercing directionality out of the cab. I also half assed tolex'ed it. it looks fine, but i'm more of a function over form kinda guy. It has wheels on it and is very sturdy. also has big recessed metal handles on the sides. But, i think my gigging days are over so i want something smaller, a 2x12" would be fine.We could trade cabs, trade cabs w/ speakers, sell/buy just speakers or just cabs. i dunno i just need to end up w/ a 2x12" w/ good speakers in it.
