is there anything in north raleigh? i guess i could go to hamiltons(?) on tryon, but thats kinda far away and its hard for me to get over there during regular business hours (i work full time near the airport).basically what happened is i broke a manifold/downpipe stud trying to replace the downpipe. it was broken flush with the manifold. i tried to drill and use an ez-out, but the fucking ez-out broke inside the stud.so i'm looking for a place that can remove the broken stud and re-tap the hole if needed*i tried the yellow pages but i would rather have a recommendation from someone who's been there before.

hamilton's is worth the the drive imo. i think gk2004 does some machine work somewhere, maybe pm him.

its not a question about making the drive, its about finding time to drive across town and back during the day. i'm assuming they're open the typical morning-5pm monday-friday?

Theres a machine shop/engine builder on glenwood/70, on the right heading north, somewhere near angus barn. Its a driveway off in the trees. There are also multiple truck/heavy equipment shops off westgate that I am sure could fix it.

walker's at six forks and wake forest

this is something ANY shop should be able to fix not just a machine shop, its not uncommon for those to break off. there have been times where i was doing exhaust work and couldnt break nuts loose, so I flip the direction and snap them on puropse. that way it usually breaks with enough sticking out to get some vice grips on after heating with a torch, and you can install new studs without drilling and tapping anything.

there's no grabbing it with vice grips...

^ why is that? Just curious. Only thing I've had done there is a flywheel resurfaced, so not much experiance with them.
