NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!The last thing I want on ESPN is another show with the quality of Cold Pizza, which would be: NASCAR.

12/7/2005 1:16:25 PM

12/7/2005 1:21:41 PM
espn > nbc nascar coverage.
12/7/2005 1:34:41 PM
I was hoing ABC and ESPN paid Nascar money NOT to show it on TV
12/7/2005 1:38:30 PM
yes i did.
12/7/2005 1:46:12 PM
if it means less poker on tv, i'm all for it.
12/7/2005 1:46:16 PM
This is OLD news, other than the actual specifics of the deal.I think its safe to assume ABC and ESPN will do almost if not all broadcasts in HD, and hopefully TWC will have ESPN2HD by that time . Hopefully Dr. Jerry Punch will be involved, even better if Bob Jenkins is, as well as Benny Parsons (who was great before moving to NBC)...make Bill Weber a pit reporter again rather than play-by-play and its perfect.
12/7/2005 1:47:17 PM
Bob Jenkins is the HEAT.One year when I was little, I was sitting in the paddock at Daytona and Bob Varsha and Bob Jenkins showed up to shoot a segment about tire pressure. I was like "OMF TV GUYS!"
12/7/2005 1:51:10 PM

so with nascar and hockey swapping abc and nbc does this mean its official that nascar has passed hockey in the world of sports?my dream is to bring back the nba on nbcduddunnananannananananananabob costashannah stormpeter vesceyahmad rashadverizon at the half[Edited on December 7, 2005 at 8:04 PM. Reason : they still have olympics]
12/7/2005 8:02:23 PM
No, it means NBC didn't know how to cover the races and people stopped watching, so they decided not to bother.
12/7/2005 8:04:51 PM
if this means less football, basketball, or baseball i will kill a redneckmaybe even two
12/7/2005 8:06:50 PM
^It doesnt mean any of those things. Do you remember watching ABC on Sunday afternoons from August to November? NO...because they dont have shit worth watching on then anyhow. ESPN seems to show poker or bowling on Sunday afternoons in the fall as well, so no biggie there. Saturday may be different, but I dont recall many Saturdays with both networks packing the football games in back-to-back.I dont like that Speed Channel deal though...theres absolutely no reason for the freaking All-Star race to be on a shitty channel like Speed. Of all of the all-star events, its the most meaningful since you still get to cheer for the same team you always do, yet its still on a crappy cable channel rather than network TV and in high-def.
12/7/2005 11:49:32 PM
nbc gets sunday night football starting next year too, right?
12/7/2005 11:54:22 PM
12/8/2005 12:04:29 AM
It is prolly the most-watched sport because it is just one event and not spread out amongst many cities and teams.
12/8/2005 12:06:48 AM
the why doesnt really matter
12/8/2005 12:09:53 AM
Its the #2 spectator sport behind the NFL. That pretty good knowing baseball has eleventy billion games.
12/8/2005 9:03:39 AM
If you hate on NASCAR...go to one race. You'll love it.I'm as liberal as they come and I love NASCAR.Plus, any sport that you can bring your own cooler of beer/food into...what's not to love?
