anyone know a way to remove or shrink the ad box at the top of the aim buddy list?

i DO NOT mean replace the ad with a gray box, as i have already done that a long time ago

i want to remove or at least shrink the gray box so that i don't have a bunch of wasted space at the top of my buddy list

anyone know how?

Why do people go through all of this trouble to fix a sucky IM program? Just get GAIM. It's so much better than regular AIM (no ads or anything).

^^^ I love GAIM but I do have to keep regular AIM because the file transfer and direct IM and stuff on gaim don't seem to work too well

any aim replacement will be good. most of them are not for the easily frustrated though.

deadaim is good, and I've never had any problems with my copy of trillian3 or gaim.
