It's a Viewsonic G90 graphics series. Every so often it'll just emit this high pitched piercing tone. Sometimes punching the glass fixes it, but usually I just turn it off.

im not sure but this happened in the computer lab in the library tonight to this guy. it was horrible until he turned the monitor off and it stopped.

Normally CRT asshats (fun with nouns) emit a high-pitched squeal. Sometimes if it's at a different resolution/different refresh rate, or maybe if the shitty thing is just dying, that pitch will change.

Try changing the resolution on it, or maybe the refresh rate.
