I'm doing a portfolio for a class, and I am trying to find one that is not too expensive, but not cheap, either. I don't need anything incredibly fancy, and I think I just need something that's 8.5 x 11 inches. I need to be able to put in and remove pages, and I'm gonna be using the clear sheets that you can slide stuff into. I've looked at scrapbook type of things, etc, but I don't know where to look. I'm sort of stuck with wherever the Wolfline and CAT busses can take me... Any suggestions? I've sorta looked at Wal-mart, with no luck. I wanted to try to make it to AC Moore for their sale tonight, but that didn't happen.

And, I need it by Thursday, 7 or 8am...So, I guess if I found something online that could be overnight, or express shipped, that'd be okay...

Don't go to Wal-Mart for that. You might try Jill Flink in Cameron Village.

it really doesn't have to be a super high quality portfolio...i want it to be nice, but maybe show a little of my personality.

but i mainly print my pages out on a nice printer, on glossy paper, so it's gonna be 8.5x11, and in clear pages. but maybe i'll check jill flink out.

would anywhere like Cat Banjo, etc have cute notebooks? i know CB has accessories, but i've never been in there.

You could get someone maybe to take you (or the cat bus) to gleenwood- the 100 block, askew taylor has some rather nice portfolios but i dont know if they're quite what you want. worth looking at.

i've heard about askew taylor, but i wasn't sure what kind of variety they had, and their price range.

Cant say on the portfolios.

Generally a good variety, only Jerry's has a larger selection for actual good art supplies and they're way the fuck out there.

Askew's cheaper than jerry's and other places in some cases, othertimes jerry's is cheaper.
I would check them out, they're close enough really.

askew taylor is the shiznit. they will have all your needs. The people are nice and will help you out if your a lost soul there. an 8.5 x 11 portfolio should range definitely below $20.

anyone have any idea of the ncsu bookstore would have usable portfolios? or some of the bookstores right by campus?

i just have a feeling i'm not gonna have any extra time to spend on trying to get this.

If you go to the little store in the Atrium, on the left side as you walk in they have a lot of things like that.

if y'all suggest that askew taylor would have a nice selection of portfolios, i could take the method cat bus, and just walk down glenwood, from glenwood and peace.

or i might look around in cameron village - the art shop there, and finks, and maybe even just look otherwise...

what do you think the best bet is? i'm trying to find the fastest solution, which may just be the bookstore. heh.

the bookstore didn't have anything too great. they had something that looked like it just snapped shut around the papers, but i didn't really know about those, so i didn't get it. it was hard, not leather covered, but something.

they had something i thought might be okay, atleast for now...it's like a portfolio that can stand up. (good for presentations and shit, which i have to do). but i got it home and messed around w/it and i'm a dumb shit. it only stands where the 11inches is horizontal...i'd mostly have the opposite set up. so i'm trying to figure out what to do. it may just have to make do, or something else i can get from there, b/c tomorrow is like my 'work my ass off' day, and tryin to take the bus somewhere just takes so much time.
