Does anyone know of a good supplemental reference book for control systems? Anyone who has take'n the ece class or a similar controls class like in mech or chemE, please chime in.

I have a Schaum's outline you could borrow. I do plan to retake the class though, so I will need it back.

Schaum's is the only other book I have tried for that course. It is much more concise than the required text, but this isn't always a good thing. It helped some.

I believe the 301 text, Signals and Systems, also has a chapter or two on z-transforms, and may even cover Niquist diagrams. It's worth looking through, and I thought it was a much better written book than Modern Control Systems.
