Ive been looking on the website for the bowl and cant figure out which team is the home team? i was going to get tickets but was unsure of which team i wanted to sit behind...anyone know? ticketmaster doesnt tell you...it just asks if you wanna sit behind the home team or visitor
11/30/2005 2:15:23 PM
clemson?
11/30/2005 2:19:03 PM
Look at the box from last years game. The 'home' team alternates between conferences each year. So if the ACC team was home last year, they'll be the away this year.
11/30/2005 2:23:31 PM
we're not going there this year.$$$
11/30/2005 2:24:13 PM
it doesnt matter to me if we're goin there or not...its close to home (hickory)

Raycom sports is in my building in CLT.Lee Fowler just left the building (drove off in a 300m).[Edited on November 30, 2005 at 3:25 PM. Reason : []
11/30/2005 3:18:05 PM
I dunno. I didn't think they were extending bids until after the championship game. He's talked with a few already from my understanding.
11/30/2005 3:32:34 PM
Although it won't be official for a couple days, Lee Fowler in the Raycom office makes me think we are their choice.
11/30/2005 3:33:41 PM
I just posted the link to the bowl's website because their site doesn't have any announcement about State getting an invite.
11/30/2005 3:37:33 PM
Here's what I was saying:My office is in the same building as Raycom. Lee Fowler was in their office today (saw him leave ~1pm in a 300m, I was coming back from lunch). Not sure he would stop by their office just to say hello - figure we have a good shot. A friend at RBC Centura says they want State there (RBC is a sponsor even though it is in the BofA Stadium).

the peach bowl wont listen to swofford, they take clemson. FSU to champs bowl. State in charlotte.the only way imo we are going to boise is if BC goes to the peach. I don't think that's happening.
11/30/2005 3:45:38 PM
^or if South Carolina goes to the Peach, because the Peach will not have that rematch.
11/30/2005 3:58:09 PM
well if usc goes to the peach, i see them taking ga tech, then fsu in champs, clemson in charlotte, bc in boise, us in nashville.[Edited on November 30, 2005 at 4:00 PM. Reason : the only way we're in boise(imo) is if BC is in peach]

its more of a deal between Boise and Charlotte, think the Boise game to atheletics is more high profile because they claim today that people will think back to last years ECU game in charlotte and look at the #'s there. They want us to play a high profile team as well to get good media coverage and get our name out more. SO i think considering the talk lately its between Boise and Charlotte, Charlotte is our secure place, we are just lookin at others first.
11/30/2005 4:07:23 PM
^um noWe are trying to avoid Boise like the plague...It helps nothing to have no fans follow us and get our tails whipped by Boise State on their home blue turf. That game is on a Wednesday at 4:30 (while most are still at work) and in no way will that "get our name out there."Charlotte would be ideal for practice time...location for fans...ability to have recruits at the game...etc..etc...etc.Although USF would not be as good of an opponent compared to Boise State, playing in your Home state would help with recruiting...ala UNC this year.Boise is our last ditch...if we have to type thing. I know we should be thankful to get any bowl this year but we are not a sure thing for Charlotte and thinking about Boise...more the other way around. We really want Charlotte and if Clemson ends up there then we fall back to Boise.I don't think the ECU game is realivant at all...We had just lost 3 in a row and eliminated ourselves from the Bowl picture and still had more fans there than any Big East team has ever brought to a Tire Bowl. We have won 4 out of 5 to finish this year and we can all really get excited about playing New Years Eve and enjoy the thought that the team will benefit BIG TIME for the extra practices to prepare for next year. [Edited on November 30, 2005 at 4:21 PM. Reason : ECU]

yeah, NO ONE wants to go to boise. NO ONE.[Edited on November 30, 2005 at 4:23 PM. Reason : might want to check that again...Utah is not playing in boise, boise st is.][Edited on November 30, 2005 at 4:25 PM. Reason : http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=2054429]

The bowl game in Charlotte would be the only one I could go to, given the time and date.

I'm still hoping for Nashvilleseems like itd be a great town to be in for new years

I would go to either Charlotte or Nashville, but I don't think I could afford to go to Boise. I will NOT ever travel to San Fran due to their stance on certain issues (I refuse to contribute money to their economy).

why shouldn't they be able to ban military recruitment?I would be in favor of forced military recruitment if the military would be liable for the lies told to these kids.

Maybe San Fran doesn't want the same protection the military was able to offer NYC on 9/11?And that protection wasn't even during a war where 120k+ troops are in Iraq/Afghanistan.^ ^ Response to comment saying San Fran should not be afforded military protection.][Edited on November 30, 2005 at 5:28 PM. ^Thanks, Bill O'Reilly. Get an original argument.Btw, the law that was voted on in SF does not BAN military recruiting, it just makes it more difficult to get into public schools and recruit poor kids.

^Peach Bowl consequences: as in there won't be a Clemson vs. USC rematch
11/30/2005 6:49:30 PM
Regardless of who wins the SEC Championship, Auburn is definitly going to the Capital One (Citrus) Bowl and S.C. is definitly going to the Outback Bowl. If Georgia loses to LSU, Georgia goes to the Peach and plays either Clemson or B.C. If Georgia wins, Alabama goes to the Peach (LSU to the Cotton) and plays Clemson or GT.
