There are 3 this weekend that are for first place in the division:Atlanta at Carolina (1pm)Cincinnati at Pittsburgh (1pm)Dallas at N.Y. Giants (1pm)What a weekend for the NFL, three huge games this week that have major playoff implications. Maybe the panthers can actually beat Vick.Whichever 3 of these teams lose will be in a dogfight to get back on top or to even make the playoffs. Both conferences are very tight this year[Edited on November 29, 2005 at 10:46 AM. Reason : ]

waitif carolina goes 8-4it will be a dogfight to get into the playoffs?

^I was thinking that same thingand an Atlanta win over Carolina doesn't give them first place if Tampa wins. There would be a three way tie.Carolina would have a win over Tampa and a loss to AtlantaTampa would have a win over Atlanta and a loss to CarolinaAtlanta would have a win over Carolina and a loss to TampaSo those two games together might decide first, but they could also clusterfuck first. Hopefully the boys get it done against the ATL

Don't get me wrong I like the panthers but mark my words if they loose this weekend they will not make the playoffs.[Edited on November 29, 2005 at 11:59 AM. Reason : a]

Well, your words have been marked.

green bay can still make the playoffs.... right guys?

Football season has been great this yearEspecially the ATL/Panthers/Bucs scenarioWe should pull out over Saints, would be very surprised if we didnt...and Panthers go up against the seemingly unstoppable vick (almost had him last year, but that Superman dive was crucial)

Panthers always own TampaTampa always owns AtlantaAnd Atlanta always own us, especially with VickIt's basically like Rock, Paper, Scissors
11/29/2005 1:40:12 PM
it really is, and then the saints are just that pesky little brother who screws everything up once in a while

^like last year?[Edited on November 29, 2005 at 2:51 PM. Reason : or was it the rams that put carolina at 7-9]

yes, actually...the saints went 8-8 last year, and in the process split with all three divisional opponents.10/10 - 17-20 loss to TB11/28 - 21-24 loss to ATL12/05 - 21-32 loss to CAR12/19 - 21-17 win over TB12/26 - 26-13 win over ATL1/02 - 21-18 win over CARthat last one is the one that came to mind about spoiling things for divisional rivals as it was the win that kept the streaking panthers from making the playoffs

I will not bet against my team, but I have a feeling we will lose to Atlanta next week then go 1-1 against Tampa Bay and New Orleans, lose to Dallas, then have to beat Atlanta there to make the playoffs. We will not make it at 9-7. I hope this does not happen but growing up a State fan I have grown to expect the worst.[Edited on November 29, 2005 at 3:32 PM.
