by percent capacity with 102.77%. Just imagine where we would be ranked without the MTSU game, which wasn't included in the season ticket package and if the UMD game wasn't scheduled during the Thanksgiving break. http://web1.ncaa.org/d1mfb/Internet/attendance/IA_CAPACITY.pdfIn other standings we were ranked #28 based on total attendance with 370476, and #37 based on average attendance with 52925, which again was hurt by the MTSU game. The highest attended game was the Clemson game which had 57,500 fans attend.[Edited on November 27, 2005 at 9:33 PM. its not that hard to fill the capacity of such a small stadium...let's see those numbers next year
11/27/2005 9:35:39 PM
We've been #1 in the nation for the past 3 years straight in % capacity, FYI
11/27/2005 9:38:28 PM
because we still haven't changed our official capacity since the days of mike co'cain.
11/27/2005 9:39:43 PM
Those past three years before the Vaughn Towers we listed our permanent capacity at 51,500.
11/27/2005 9:42:44 PM
52925 is below our permanent seating capacity of 53,x00. They're basing it off the 51,500 figure we've kept for the last billion years. (Vaughn Towers adds ~2,000 permanent seats that should be accounted for.)

isn't the NEZ supposed to add around 7k+ to the current capacity?
11/27/2005 10:03:42 PM
I think it adds a net of like 4,000Something like 7,000 seats - 3,000 lawn seats = 4,000 seat net to total capacity
11/27/2005 10:05:23 PM
NEZ will be about 7000 total. But will take away 2000 from the grass seats.and 400 from the band seats.and 4000 from the temporary bleachers. So it'll be a small change in capacity after it's done. WPC is claiming about 60,000+ after it's done. (the numbers don't add up)
11/27/2005 10:06:05 PM
I thought the current # was 54,500?
11/27/2005 11:41:41 PM
Are they ever going to finish in the top levels (where those temp stands are?)
11/27/2005 11:42:10 PM
UMD game has empty seats, apparently
11/27/2005 11:51:44 PM
every school has a thanksgiving break. so i would imagine that others are hurt just as much.the hit we took against MTSU had a lot more to do with the opponent than the week of November.
11/27/2005 11:56:39 PM
we were at 52,312 for the UMD game
11/28/2005 12:28:26 AM
I'm always amused by how you can have more than 100% to capacity.
11/28/2005 12:34:51 AM
just as a reference...we had more people at the UMD game than we did Southern Miss
11/28/2005 12:45:51 AM
The crowd seemed really good yesterday. I'm sure the upper level of section 15 was empty as hell, and the endzone student section wasnt full, but overall there seemed to be a decent number of people there considering it was over the break. I havent had that much fun at a football game since Miami and OSU last year. It seemed loud as fuck for the entire second half after we took back the lead, although the rest of the game wasnt too shabby. Considering our favorite activity yesterday was giving up the 3rd and a mile, I'd say our fans were great while we were on D.
11/28/2005 12:53:44 AM
well, at least the Tennessee crowds came through this year...fucking loser shitty ass fucks
11/28/2005 1:50:44 AM
This is another one of those manufactured stats that nobody cares about. So you fill up your little stadium with more than it can hold. Big deal
