11/24/2005 12:27:16 PM
i thought this kinda talk, was suppose to embolden the enemy?guess i dont know shit.
11/24/2005 12:28:10 PM
What exactly do you people want? You bitch about everything. You bitch when the troops are there. You bitch when there's talk about reducing the number of troops. Are you people really that upset that we're winning the war?
11/24/2005 12:28:55 PM
only losers cut and run^
11/24/2005 12:29:42 PM
DONALD RUMSFELD IS A COWARD!!!
11/24/2005 12:36:29 PM
just b/c we're killing alot of people doesnt mean we're winning anything
11/24/2005 12:43:35 PM
Um, it's not cutting and running when the fucking Iraqis are capable enough to take care of themselves.
11/24/2005 12:43:54 PM
^uhh ahah. so, has the violence in iraq been dying down? are we seeing fewer troop deaths?[Edited on November 24, 2005 at 12:48 PM. Reason : -]
11/24/2005 12:46:56 PM
The insurgents have been reduced to car and road bombs. They can't even amass anything widespread, so yes the war is being won. Besides, when it has been determined that the Iraqis can take care of their own problems, not to mention the fact that the Iraqi government wants a more active role, then yes we ought to pull out. It's not like we're pulling everybody out at one time, we're allowing the Iraqis to control and govern their own country.
11/24/2005 12:51:57 PM
Whatever. At least i want to stay and get the job done right. All you want to do is cut and run.
11/24/2005 1:09:15 PM
i thought liberals were the ones not living in reality
11/24/2005 1:20:08 PM
Wasn't the plan always to reduce troop levels back down to 130,000 after the vote?
11/24/2005 1:22:50 PM
yea....clearly we need fewer troopes to win the wari remember learning that in millitary school.[Edited on November 24, 2005 at 1:24 PM. Reason : -]

11/24/2005 1:47:31 PM
It's like trying to reason with 2 year olds. Yes, we're winning. The Iraqi people have clearly spoken on that with their willingness to get involved in the political process. Democracy in Iraq, what a lovely thing. Despite the fact that many of you think that the Iraqi people cannot handle the responsibility of self-governing, the ballot box says differently.
11/24/2005 2:40:37 PM
^just having democracy isnt winning. democracy is suppose to stabilize that whole region. all we see is more violence. we have no victory until the violence stops. our troops put up signs that read "you vote, they leave"....so gee what a shock that people voted

Maybe it's because the man who's proposing it actually knows WTF is going on over there. Rumsfeld's credibility on this subject and his intimate knowledge of the situation makes him qualified to know when is the right time to make a transition of power in Iraq because of the positive steps that are being made on all fronts. If the time wasn't right for the US to begin to reduce the number of troops in Iraq then we wouldn't pull out until the necessary time arose, end of discussion. There's a huge difference between the Secretary of Defense making the recommendation vs. somebody who wants us to get out for reasons other than finishing the job.

Murtha is a Congressman. He has a lot of responsibilities. As Sec. of Defense, Rumsfeld knows a lot more about the war situation because that is all he deals with on a daily basis. His word on the matter is a lot more credible than Murtha's. Besides, if his opinion is concuring with Murtha's then what is the problem?
11/24/2005 3:53:35 PM
rummy? credible? do i need to put on a clip show for you?
11/24/2005 3:57:52 PM
rummythe guy who just got caught in lies like last week on hardball is reliable????

11/24/2005 4:08:55 PM
HELL YOU HAVE A FUCKING THREAD THAT SAY "WITHDRAWL IS NOT AN OPTION"
11/24/2005 4:09:50 PM
i think we should invade iran. i mean, then, a whole shit load of "terrorists" would be killing our troops.which, according to you, protects america.
11/24/2005 4:54:14 PM
hawe're getting killed by them over there so we don't get killed by them over herebecause isn't that what "fighting them" really means
11/24/2005 4:57:57 PM
a human target dummy defense makes the best offense. clearly. how can we lose?[Edited on November 24, 2005 at 5:12 PM. Reason : - ]

The kind of withdrawal that Murtha wants is not an option, like I have said time and time and time again. How many times do I have to explain the same shit to you? You're damn straight I trust what the Secretary of Defense says about the war in Iraq instead of some kneejerk anti-war rhetoric. It must really kill you to know that you're wrong. The war is working. The Iraqi people are going to have free elections next month. They are going to take over their country and govern accordingly. Heaven forbid that democracy spread to the middle east. Your ignorance combined with a strong undertone of racism would make David Duke smile.[Edited on November 24, 2005 at 5:15 PM. Reason : ]

It really doesn't matter what Murtha wants. He doesn't have the definite say in this. Rumsfeld is in constant contact with the people on the ground and those in the new Iraqi government. His word on this situation is what matters, period.

^^ so no matter what rummy says, hes right and we shouldnt question him?
11/24/2005 5:27:25 PM
Yes, listening to the man who knows more about the Iraqi situation save the President and possibly the Sec. of State makes me a flip flopper. Wonderful analysis.

11/24/2005 5:49:49 PM
Blah blah blah, Rumsfeld lied, Bush lied, Cheney lied...it's a broken record.Again, the man is in the position to know if and when the situation is plausible for us to take troops out of Iraq. Far more credible than Murtha or a leftwing blog.
