11/24/2005 12:15:28 PM
i will own one the day they come out, i've been waiting my whole life for chrysler to come out with something like this. they almost had me with the charger, except for the automatic part.
11/24/2005 12:41:33 PM
*FLOGS HIS PECKER UNMERCIFULLY WHILST EYEBALLING THESE BABIES*Holy shit. I'm with Ivan on this one. I ain't a new Charger fan...it's just too clunky. These cars, on the other hand, capture the true essence of muscle Chrysler.
11/24/2005 12:51:23 PM
Wait, there isn't a manual Charger?
11/24/2005 12:54:41 PM
nope. just the gay ass "autostik".
11/24/2005 1:04:04 PM
plum crazy is nuts
11/24/2005 1:08:37 PM
if someone cracks mopar's engine management system i'll purchase one but it hasn't happend yet and i won't ever leave a car stock so if i can't put some flavor of forced induction on it i don't want it.
11/24/2005 1:13:52 PM
11/24/2005 1:53:38 PM
why not get some kinda standalone mr domestic fast and furious?
11/24/2005 2:41:56 PM
hahah cause standalones can't control the weird ass dual spark plug per coil setup nor the funky displacement on demand setup either.. 2 fast 2 furious (cept i hate body kits like sleepers so i guess the only thing that makes me remotely close to them is a love for efi and how it works)
11/24/2005 3:03:12 PM
holy shit man. i mean its new but yet looks just like a classic one.ive spent like the last 2 months in a 70 challenger, i should know.
11/24/2005 8:21:07 PM
wow looks hot
11/24/2005 8:24:10 PM
Detroit is gonna be hot this January. Damn first the Camaro concept will be unveiled and now the Challenger too. I almost wish I made the coin to go to this myself now. Gonna be some drooling going on in 50 days!
11/24/2005 8:26:42 PM
god dammit OEP you always fuck up the threads
11/24/2005 8:38:58 PM
are you telling me you are using 800 x 600 resolution?because those pics are under 1024 pixels in width.not my fault you are using an ancient/kiddie monitor.
11/24/2005 8:42:13 PM
not feeling the retro look
11/24/2005 9:33:52 PM
wow. can't wait. I wonder how it'll be priced? I wonder how much weight they can cut off the LX platform because right now a charger is significantly heavier than a mustang or gto. didn't even give it a second thought until just now, but it looks like it's (b) pillarless! that's fucking hot. Isn't the CLK the only pillarless coupe available right now? The c pillar looks more than strong enough to compensate. You just know there's a convertible coming too... That might pre-empt a 300c-helios of some kind.... hmmm[Edited on November 24, 2005 at 9:38 PM. Reason : .]
11/24/2005 9:36:17 PM
This is gonna have independent suspension right? The weight question will be interesting to see.
11/24/2005 9:41:30 PM
^I can't imagine it having dramatically different suspension from the other LX cars, so that at least means no solid-rear
11/24/2005 10:06:56 PM
11/24/2005 10:10:56 PM
^ i am not too sure about that.if that's the case, how can there be b-pillar-less cars?the second one should be the b, not the c.that concept in the spy pics is a b-pillar-less car.
11/24/2005 10:13:32 PM
^sorry. so used to referring to the pillars on either side of the rear screen as the c pillar. duly noted.[Edited on November 24, 2005 at 10:31 PM. Reason : almost got off track there, sry]
11/24/2005 10:14:28 PM
SO HOT MAN I WANT ONE!!!!!!!
11/25/2005 1:05:58 AM
11/25/2005 9:04:42 AM
gg dodge on fucking up another beautiful car with this retro-nostalgia bullshit.at least they didnt give it 4-doors like the charger.[Edited on November 25, 2005 at 11:24 AM. Reason : how about you put your designers to work and make up something NEW?]
11/25/2005 11:23:54 AM
^ yeah I mean look at how much success GM has had by making the GTO look nothing like the original. It's obviously doing much better than the retro look of the '05 Mustang...The whole point is to sell cars.
11/25/2005 12:08:38 PM
It amazing how certain people get closed minded in their views of vehicles.I understand beauty is in the eye but you are a moron if you think dodge fucked something up with this one, and I don't say that from an opinion point of view, I say it from they hit the nail right on the head with a blend of old and new.
11/25/2005 12:29:19 PM
yeah, maybe... im not saying it doesnt look good, but this retro crap is stupid. this is the best one i've seen, tho.GTO, mustang, challenger, charger.. is it THAT hard to come up with a new idea?[Edited on November 25, 2005 at 1:36 PM. Reason : mustang never went out of production.]
11/25/2005 1:34:48 PM
11/25/2005 1:41:42 PM
yeah i think yall are right my bad statement retracted
11/25/2005 2:19:14 PM
gorgeous
11/25/2005 3:29:55 PM

beautiful
11/25/2005 8:18:37 PM
Just wow. That's fucking beautiful.
11/25/2005 10:33:10 PM
Designers should only receive half pay for retro-styled cars. This doesn't even have retro "cues." It's a damn 70's Challenger with a little streamlining.
11/25/2005 10:58:24 PM
more like... double pay when they make it work that well
11/25/2005 10:59:47 PM
"That well" Who here couldn't have done this?
11/25/2005 11:27:59 PM
Its going to be heavy and thirsty, thats for sure.
11/25/2005 11:57:41 PM
heavy yes, thirsty? depends on your definition. I'm sure they'll offer the challenger with at least the biggest v6, the 3.5L, and in a lighter car than the charger, and a manual, it's likely to get way better mileage than anything that could really be deemed "thirsty." Of course the 6.1L version will consume fuel. That's almost part of the point. But I bet the DC-GM hybrid research partnership intended initially for the SUVs will trickle down to the cars that share powertrains soon enough... meaning....LX platform chryslers and dodges. So.... bite your damn tongue. it's 515 am... why am I on this thread?(danmangt40)[Edited on November 26, 2005 at 5:17 AM. Reason : .]
11/26/2005 5:16:18 AM
don't those hemi's have displacement on demand to conserve fuel?
11/27/2005 1:31:53 PM
5.7l does, 6.1l does not.
11/27/2005 1:48:38 PM
11/27/2005 5:44:43 PM
11/27/2005 5:56:49 PM
this shoulda been the charger
11/27/2005 8:23:14 PM
Perhaps the Charger should have been done the way this one was, but you couldn't call this a Charger. That would be akin to calling the new Mustang a Cougar. When something is so closely tied stylistically to a car of the past, you can't give it a different name. It just wouldn't be right.
11/27/2005 8:26:32 PM
what i mean is...it has 2 doors
11/27/2005 8:32:00 PM
