In my '94 Camry braking will cause (about 40% of the time) the power locks to trip. Most of the time they try to lock, occasionally to unlock. When I got back to work from my lunch break I parked in our deck and started pumping the breaks. Same thing, locking and unlocking as a result of hitting the brakes. This problem started today, and I'm wondering how those two systems could possibly be interconnected.

I'm asking HOW they are related, not saying that they aren't related at all. I couldn't find any information online, though I only looked for a few minutes at work.

interesting, need more info thoughfirst: to your knowledge is there, or has there ever been an alarm and/or keyless entry system installed on the vehicle AND are the power locks original factory equipment or possibly aftermarket? what trim level is the car?second: does it do this mostly while actually in motion, or can you confirm that intermittant locking or unlocking occurs even when the vehicle is sitting still, parked on a level surface?third: manual or auto transmission? does the vehicle have cruise control and is it functioning properly?

there has never been an alarm or keyless entry system installed - i bought the car from my grandfather who bought it new. One power lock is original, but the entire driver's side door was replaced after a lady hit me. The problem did occur in a very level parking deck while i was IN park, happened almost every single time I pumped the brake.

so you're done NO work to the car recently? Intermittant(sp) problem sounds like a short. Does it happen when you press the brake in or release the brake ot both?Did this car ever autolock (doors lock after you put it in drive and/or go over a certain speed)[Edited on November 23, 2005 at 8:27 PM. Reason : autolock]

it could be because there are too many hippie bumper stickers on the back end. This will cause all sorts of unusual problems...
