i need to change the admin password on windows xp before windows actually starts upi've tried using a ms-dos bootdisk with NTFS support to delete the SAM folder, i've tried using numerous password changers, and now i'm at a losswhat next?

so when the computer starts up and it says "press f2(it may be another key but its f something) for setup" you cant put a password on it then?

i had a linux boot disk of some sort at one point that let me change itbut i'll be damned if i remember what it was called

well if you are talking about basically turning on your computer and not even let it load windows before it asks you for a password, then thats how i did it was to go to those settings by pushing like f2was like 8 years ago though they might changed some shit since then*interesting side note*i locked out my relatives from their computer cause i ddi that and forgot the password

yeah i tried that a day or two before making this thread and it didn't worki think my SAM file is horribly messed up because when i go to delete it, it says FILE NOT FOUND and when i tried to blank the password using the linux disk it didn't stick
