think we'll slide in after losses by WFU and Stanford?also, when does it come out, will there be a new one this week or will we ahve to wait for next week?
11/21/2005 12:19:07 PM
I think the ESPN one is released for the 6 oclock sportscenter. To me though it's still too early to care about the polls.
11/21/2005 12:24:19 PM
We were 26 in the coaches and like 28 in AP, so we should in at least the coaches. I checked ESPN and no new poll is out. It may come out later in the day.
11/21/2005 12:24:49 PM
Florida might sneak in
11/21/2005 12:26:21 PM
florida should be top 15. if it comes out later in the day maryland andd gonzaga play at 4. would it count that game? wierd
11/21/2005 12:31:53 PM
^No, poll period ends on Sunday night every week.
11/21/2005 12:33:49 PM
you think UNC's votes will be preserved after their shit performance against a high-school caliber team?i think so
11/21/2005 12:48:54 PM
^Do we even need to ask that? These are the pollsters that preseason ranked UNC.
11/21/2005 12:53:40 PM
OMG!! We're in first place in the ACC and we're not even ranked!!!!!!!!
11/21/2005 2:19:21 PM
^ I hope you just forgot to add your sarcasm tag
11/21/2005 2:36:33 PM
exactly, with no ACC games played yet...uh huh, we are pretty much all in first if thats what you mean

ahha wtf.. Why did Texas jump UConn [and take 2 #1 votes from Duke] after beating Southern and Samford.. not that it matters.and why is UNC receiving a vote.[Edited on November 21, 2005 at 2:43 PM. Reason : f]
11/21/2005 2:42:07 PM
1 fucking vote
11/21/2005 2:42:14 PM
Wake's still in it? I know its early and all but WATCH THEM PLAY!
11/21/2005 2:47:21 PM
i mean they did beat gardner webbthey are winning sike they need to get that shit outta here
11/21/2005 2:47:35 PM
Although I must admit seeing Bucknell ahead of UNC (even if only by alphabetical order) made my day!
11/21/2005 2:48:31 PM
is that ap or espn?
11/21/2005 2:48:32 PM
11/21/2005 2:49:49 PM
and for good reason
11/21/2005 3:03:13 PM
AP poll put out today the 21st of November
11/21/2005 3:04:45 PM
Yeah I was definitely being sarcastic up there, I figured it was obvious.
11/21/2005 3:32:53 PM
ILLINOIS IS NOT GOOD THIS YEAR!they won't even finish in the top 5 of the Big Ten this yearplease drop them from the top-25, I say!
11/21/2005 3:39:54 PM
you cant be serious thinkin a team that went THAT DEEP in the tourney and still has some key players wont be that goodi dont believe
11/21/2005 3:44:33 PM
listen, the Illini are like my cousinState is my daddy, Northwestern and Mizzou are my brothersIllinois is my cousinI love Illinois and I follow them. mark my words that MSU (i know they got upset a few days ago), Wisconsin, Ohio State and Indiana will finish ahead of them....notice I didn't mention overrated Iowa
11/21/2005 3:49:40 PM
MSU is on ESPNdos right now, they are ok...should be alot better by the end of the year but if they get in big man trouble the whole team is in trouble
11/21/2005 3:59:49 PM
As long as the Illini beat UNC next week, that's all I care about. Sorry ACC, don't care, I want them to lose every game.
11/21/2005 4:02:48 PM
next on espn2 is UMD and gonzaga, cant wait to see how overrated Gonzaga is and how underrated UMD is...Gary has a phenominal team this year...they could do some real damage...and i hate gonzaga because they arent all that good if u ask methe Kentucky and Iowa game should be good as well along with the Dub V and Texas game, get to see how good this texas team really is...and if our system would work on them, we play alot like Dub V
11/21/2005 4:05:32 PM
what time is the maryland game?
11/21/2005 4:06:58 PM
prolly about 4:30, should start right after this game they have on now which has 10 min left
11/21/2005 4:08:47 PM
11/21/2005 4:10:44 PM
did michigan state lose
11/21/2005 4:13:37 PM
they lost to hawaii saturday but are beating Chamidean or whatever it is by 20 now, they were tied for the longest time though until about the 11 min. mark
11/21/2005 4:17:31 PM
^^HAHA yeah to Hawaii 82-63 I think.[Edited on November 21, 2005 at 4:17 PM. Reason : ^^]
11/21/2005 4:17:38 PM
this is a good gamebut marylands gonna be real good later on, think Gonzaga doesnt have much further to goUMD is lookin nice as far as talent and play ability
11/21/2005 6:26:11 PM
11/21/2005 6:42:11 PM
the whole idea of preseason polls is retarded. msu lose to hawaii but they are #12 and hawaiis unranked. stanford lost to uc irvine and is still 25 while nevade dropped out after winning.
11/21/2005 6:58:18 PM
there goes Maryland out the top 25let us in!!
11/21/2005 7:10:03 PM
why is everyone so concerned about being ranked during the second week of the seasonwho gives a fuck
11/21/2005 7:52:02 PM
(something to talk about other than football)
11/21/2005 8:04:32 PM
well that doesn't answer the question at all
11/21/2005 8:05:53 PM
If we're still undefeated next week, then we'll be in the polls. Our first real test (@ND) is this Saturday.
11/21/2005 8:06:09 PM
i prefer to be under the radar like hodge said awhile back, just stalking everyone
11/21/2005 8:07:30 PM
i think it's that a lot of NC State fans feel like they deserve some respect. State returns 4 starters. yes we lost Hodge, our heart, soul, leading rebounder, scorer, and assist man, but when you return that many experienced players, and considerable depth, you should be getting some kind of recognition. it seems that only Jay Bilas and a few other educated members of the press are actually giving State some respect.if we beat ND and aren't at least #25 then there's something wrong. until then i'm fine with not being ranked. who have we played? no one really.[Edited on November 21, 2005 at 8:20 PM. Reason : ]
11/21/2005 8:18:29 PM
if the 'educated' members of the press are giving us our due respect then who cares what the monkeys voting for the ap poll thinkdisrespected teams play harder anyways
11/21/2005 8:28:49 PM
It'll all work itself out. I'd rather not be ranked anyways... we haven't looked that great vs. shitty competition and we don't need a target on our backs. We're a 2nd-half-of-the-season team
11/21/2005 8:29:07 PM
i personally would like to stay right out of the top-25, or in the high 20's until after Alabama game, that way we don't get too big of heads when we begin the main stretch of ACC play. now one could argue that a team might play harder to try and see themselves get higher in the ranks, or keep their ranking.
11/21/2005 8:36:38 PM
^^^^^^Good call, good call, good call.
11/21/2005 8:51:18 PM
11/21/2005 10:40:58 PM
hopefully that trend ends this year.
