He became obsessed with snowboarding (and other extreme sports as I recall)...kind of put gold on the backburner for a little bit. I also want to say he got hurt pretty bad snowboarding, which set him back for a little.

That..and the fact that he's a douche (which has no relevance, I just don't like him).

He's an idiot, and I hope he doesn't get back on the PGA tour. He doesn't deserve the right to play in the majors anymore because he basically quit after winning the British Open, and now he really just plays golf for the hell of it (and dont get me wrong, it should be fun for him)...but he has no desire to win. Who the fuck plays in professional tournaments and cant break 85? He's out there taking up a spot from someone trying hard and dedicating his life to playing golf and getting into the open or on the PGA tour. fuck him.

He was also diagnosed with that vertigo thing and I think that was believed to have set him back some too

i think what happened to him is he tried for so long to win a major that when he finally won one he thought it was gonna be some life changing event and he said that it really wasn't; nothing really changed. I think this caused him to lose a lot of interest along w/ he started to pursue other things
