alf, those are a dime a dozen on ebay
if you're going to do a site like hot or not, you need to have a content on top of the rating part. You will not be able to compete with the big boys unless you're just doing this for fun, if so go for it but don't expect to get serious traffic for years

I don't plan to compete with anyone. I got this idea because my members on a similar forum like this for oregon state suggested to me that i put up something like hot or not for them to use. I just decided to expand on that and maybe make it national.

yes, craigslist and hot or not can't be beat. first mover advantage is king.

Anyhow, I'm thinking of just having a dating/hookup site. The suggestions I got is that the GUI is the most important thing. Making it simple and easy to navigate (find people) is the key. And that's where I'm at...
