IT managers from GSK will be on-campus TODAY (November 16)to talk about internship/co-op opportunities. They are looking for CSC, CPE and related majors.

They'll be in the student lounge of EB2 from 11-3. Stop by and bring a resume.

for the life of me, I don't know why IT recruiters focus on CSC majors. We have a business MIS discipline that would be better suited for IT.

A lot of IT departments develop in-house applications to fit a specific need. It's not always about server/end-user support

^^ What time did you go by?? The were there at about 1 when I was there.
I think they said they were late though, because they couldn't find the room.

I find it a tad difficult to believe they couldn't find the room ... who was their point of contact on campus?

Maugan, I've seen this trend a bit ... hiring people who can do both desktop support type stuff and small/quick in-house applications. Could be CSC or BIT (business info tech), depending on the need.

ahh yes, we've had quite a few "in house" solutions made for our company.

except we don't call them "in house" anymore, we call them "unsupported, outdated, buggy, and version 1"
