Dogs have bad breath because they are need of a good dental hygene regime. Get their teeth cleaned at least once a year (for greyhounds and toy breeds, this might be needed every 6 months or so) and brush their teeth ~3 X a week (or get some CET chews if you're lazy). Some people have had fantastic luck with Greenies. Tarter accumulation is mostly nasty smelling bacteria just seething on your pet's teeth and gums. Also, keeping your pet's teeth cleaned keeps them healthier. Keeping all that bacteria out of their systems means a stonger immune system and better vital organ function.I'd say skip the OxyFresh and put that money towards something that is going to treat the problem, not the symptoms.

I have never had a bad breath problem. Give your pet plenty of things to chew on to remove tarter.Yearly teeth cleanings are NOT recommended as it also removes the enamel. It is much better to try to prolong the health of your pet's teeth with healthy chewing of nylabones, rawhides and dry food then to do yearly cleanings.

that's what my vet told me to use for my cats' gingivitis. Can't say if its doing much good. On second thought, I just went and smelled her breath, and I think it actually does smell better than I remember...Also, it's only sold at vets, I think.[Edited on November 16, 2005 at 11:52 AM. I use it. It neutralizes the bacteria in their mouth and help with tooth decay. In addition to brushing, its great.Doggie Dental Disease can cause serious problems when they are older

you can brush your pets teeth ( they have toothbrushes or this mitt things)i just give all of mine a greenie or similar dental chew a few times a week and i've never had a problem.(i assume) it depends on what kind of food your pet is on.moist food probably isn't as good as dry. quality also weighs in some. not all rawhides are dangerous. there are ones that are recommended by vets and aid in dental care

To cure our Boxers ^ bad breath we just placed a Listerine Strip in her mouth...Bad crunchy kitty cookie breath, or horsey pepples breath ... ALL GONE! It's cheap, easy, and safe.I've never heard of OxyFresh, but if it works, give me a holler![Edited on November 16, 2005 at 7:18 PM. Reason : .]
