When I turn my computer on the Windows logo screen appears all screwed up, or a pattern of colors will run(all red, all blue, all green and such) before moving on to the log in screen. Nothing has appeared out of the ordinary after moving past the Windows logo, except for a few, small pink bars appearing one time. That hasn't occured since. I'm wondering if this is indicative of a video card problem, bad software or something else? I ran check disk, but it didn't find any corrupted files. Any ideas?

not sure if this counts as a good idea, but it could be some kind of short circuit in the hardware. i've noticed these kinds of odd video problems in laptops (prone to overheating) and motherboards with integrated video.

Have you changed anything recently? Sounds like the splash screen is being presented in a mode your monitor can't display until Windows fully boots, then its all gravy.

I haven't messed with any settings lately. Ran ad-aware, updated norton anti-virus and ran it, spy-bot, and got nothing. Is there an easy way to tell a short circuit on a board? Thanks for helping me out.
