Ok this is going to sound a little pathetic, but are there any places on campus or near campus that are pretty easy to get a job at? Just something simple, I don't really care what it will be, I just need something to take up some of my time and give me a little extra money.

I was supposed to do a workstudy but I started a job for $10/hr and cancelled the workstudy - and found out later that the job was temporary (3 weeks).. so I'm not sure I can get it back?[Edited on November 12, 2005 at 8:12 PM. Reason : add a few words]

There is nothing pathetic about looking for a nothing job if you are a college freshman.

well see.. at my hometown I worked in fast food.. from the time I turned 16 until I moved to Raleigh in July...which really sucked.. but it was pretty much the only place i could get 40 hrs a week and because I was from a small town - on top of that, it seems that in Raleigh fast food restaurants dont wanna pay over $6.00/hr, which I'm definetly not used to - but thats besides the point - I'm trying to get away from fast food because its shitty, and find like an office job or something of the sorts - but its not too easy with a cruddy fast food background :-/ I think I'm stuck

NCSU libraries might be a good place to start. The hours are flexible and the supervisors understand that student schedules are uniquely wacky. Check out the following page for more information and the application:http://www.lib.ncsu.edu/jobs/temporary/Instead of just filling out the application and crossing your fingers, I'd recommend going to the supervisor of the department you're interested in to double check availability, hours available, and job responsibilities. (The descriptions on the application page are vague at best.) Go in with two or three copies of the completed application so you can drop one with your potential employer and have another for human resources, and perhaps an extra one for your reference. Also have a valid state issued ID and your original social security card if they decide to hire you on the spot.If the library's too bookish for you, you might also want to check Dining. I hear being a C-store clerk is hilarious.

Old Navy in Crossroads is hiring BIG TIME for the holidays.

awesome..

Target in Cary Crossroads is hiring... but I would go there as a LAST resort. I worked at the one in Greensboro, and it's an incredibly simple job with terrible pay and terrible management. But management may be different here, so it could be worth a shot. Good luck.

I REALLY want to get a job working with computers, since computers are my life pretty much. I've found so far that it isn't easy finding the tech jobs unless you have a bachelors in comp sci or something of the sort.

i know it's not a computer/tech job, but c-stores are always hiring, it seems.

The listings here can be sorted by technical jobs... there are a few active ones right now that you might be interested in. http://www7.acs.ncsu.edu/student_jobs/selectjobs.htmlThe jobs in ePack and the CSC site are generally more full-time and internships, but sometimes you might find something. It's worth a shot! http://ncsu.erecruiting.com/er/security/login.jsphttp://www.csc.ncsu.edu/corporate_relations/job_listings.php

Look at becoming an EOS operator. They put posters up in Leazar and Withers at the start of every semester, it's simple and you have time to do your HW as well.
