Take that shit. First play of the game, 95 yard TD pass to Clark!

...it wasn't the first play of the game, but the point stands
11/12/2005 7:40:54 PM

11/12/2005 8:47:14 PM
this thread isnt very good
11/12/2005 8:47:45 PM
I love it when people talk shit way too soon
11/12/2005 8:48:04 PM
he has actually earned 2 TDs but TJ dropped an easy easy pass
11/12/2005 8:48:21 PM
that pick wasn't his fault. the referee was in front of the WR and the linebacker just slid right in there.i'm more worried about deraney than anything right now though.
11/12/2005 8:49:57 PM
Yeah, from the looks of things we're gonna need a punter BIGTIME
11/12/2005 9:03:16 PM
only good news from this game:looks like Deraney is OK (what's up with punting 50billion feet in the air? gave us time to get down the field but shortened his kick...hope he's A-OK )
11/12/2005 10:54:30 PM
god damn that was scaryi think they gave him a 'shot'
11/12/2005 10:58:12 PM
Stone haters? Nobody at this university hates him, not Charlie or me or anyone that thinks that Jay is the better QB. And good call by the way, after that TD he didnt no shit.^^^^I like how every Stone interception is never his fault. That throw was right to that linebacker and you are gonna blame it on the official? It was worse than the two he threw to Southern Miss.

I don't hate Marcus Stone, I'm just not sold on him as a good QB. He has the mechanics(arm strength, foot work) but his head just isn't right for some reason. And yes that INT was definitely his fault, the ref was there the whole time, he should know better, and even without the ref he threw it short and TJ couldn't have made a play on the ball with/without the ref.The second and third drive actually had many impressed, one long TD(though lucky from bad coverage) and a second TD pass that was dropped. But as I expected, he failed to impress me and another bad performance followed. If Marcus could ever get his head straight and learn to read a D, then he could be a really good QB, I mean he's definitely impressed me with his arm strength and his speed, but the other intangibles he seems to be lacking. Maybe with more play and experience, plus another off-season to really work at it, maybe he can fix that and come out and be solid next year, but at this point I'm really hoping Burke is ready to start next year, and if he is then we should definitely start him. One of the reasons Rivers did so well was he was mature enough to start as a freshman and he did, and it paid big dividends for our team and program.

I'm gonna hold of any and every judgement of our QB's until we can get an offensive lineThere was absolutely no excuse for last night. It wasn't Stone's fault... it wouldn't have been Jay's fault had he played. We couldn't run block, we could'nt pass block... that was the most pitiful excuse for an offensive line that I've seen in years. Absolutely unnacceptable

ding ding ding where is the FIRE COACH BARRY thread?

I think all the Jay Davis bashers and haters need to think what they did. It was the same way when Jay played and nearly ALL NC STATE FANS started booing and blaming everything on him. Some of us, like myself and CharlieEFH, and LudaChris, knew it was the line and that Marcus Stone is NO BETTER, if not WORSE than Jay.
11/13/2005 11:42:12 AM
I do believe Jay is better than Stone. I just don't think the team's morale was very good with Jay in the game, thus I wanted to play Stone. He seemed to give them a lift and they responded. After last night, it looks like we have 2 lame-duck QB's. We have a lot of problems that run a lot deeper than just the QB. Lack of an offensive line will cost Chuck his job if he doesn't do something about it. Every "building" program can find talent to be effective, but 99% of them fail or don't sustain thier winning ways becuase of lack of an offensive line. It's the hardest position to improve, the hardest position to coach, and the hardest position to get solid and talented depth at. We have a long way to go
11/13/2005 11:46:09 AM
^^you're making yourself look like an idiot by implying that Davis would have dont better last night. I was in that group that wanted CharlieEFH to shut the fuck up, but not because I was hating on Jay Davis, but because I wanted a change. I think you can say that for 90 percent of us in those threads. But please, stop acting like Davis would have done better last night. When Davis is under pressure, he throws picks...he fumbles...he throws more picks. That performance can be soley credited to the offensive line, and AJ Davis for being a total fucking retard.
11/13/2005 11:54:43 AM
^I never said Jay would do better. I have been saying that neither one is worth a shit. The fact that all NC State fans booed Jay like they did when it wasn't ALL his fault is what I have had a beef with. Im not sure we could have won last night with Philip Rivers at QB.
11/13/2005 12:32:30 PM
I think part of the reason our OLine looks so bad is becuase there's no downfield threat and the other team just lines up and blitzes like hell. They wouldln't do that to Rivers(Of course, I'm sure you've all figured this out as well so it didn't really need to be said)A passing threat would ridiculously help this team
