I'm not putting this in the soapbox, because more of you need to see this. I don't think there's any reason to even debate it. This man is dangerous. Yeah, he's getting exactly what he wants - attention and money - for doing this. Nonetheless, this has got to stop.http://cbs5.com/topstories/local_story_315014627.htmlBasically, San Francisco voted to curb military recruiting in public schools. Bill O'Reilly's response?
11/11/2005 10:24:56 PM
I think both are fucked up. Why can't the military recruit in schools?ok, I actually read the link. Who gives a fuck? This guy is a talk show host. He wants people to watch him plain and simple. I'd put him up there with that 9/11 movie fucker, Moore (had to look his name up too). Welcome to the media machine.[Edited on November 11, 2005 at 10:33 PM. Reason : didn't know who he was]
11/11/2005 10:27:21 PM
I don't see anything wrong there, just a bit of overreacting in the background, tho.Fuck frisco, fuck O' rly, you wanna be liberal be open minded to other's opinions
11/11/2005 10:31:33 PM
If you can seriously give me a logical explanation as to how you can compare asking recruiters not to bother school kids and INVITING AL QUEDA TO BLOW UP COIT TOWER, I'll discuss this with you.but to answer your question, because the people voted on it. Not "activist judges," not even the government. That's what democracy is about. 59% of them decided against military recruiters. That's why. If 59% of san franciscans tell me they think it's cool for o'reilly to invite al queda to blow up coit tower, I'll shut up.
11/11/2005 10:31:41 PM
Oh knowz you spotted his secret al queda link!!!1
11/11/2005 10:33:27 PM
They aren't even on any level to compare the two (Inviting terrorists and recruiting). I don't agree with what he said at all.[Edited on November 11, 2005 at 10:50 PM. Reason : not Moore and they other guy]
11/11/2005 10:36:43 PM
how cna you compare him to moore? Moore may be a bit of a douche, but he's never invited al queda to attack us.
11/11/2005 10:37:39 PM
Wow, Bill O'Reilly said something asshole-ish and outrageous. Stop the fucking presses.
11/11/2005 10:37:45 PM
yeah I'm not willing to pass judgement on this statement until I hear it in its full context.
11/11/2005 10:40:46 PM
I make the comparison because I'm not truely educated about either of them or the situation. Its my assumption they both go over the top however just for reactions. If they both honestly believe all the crap that spews out of their mouths, I wish someone would bonk them on the head and take them both off the air.[Edited on November 11, 2005 at 10:50 PM. Reason : this time I'm comparing Moore and the other guy.]
11/11/2005 10:41:03 PM
the particulars of this simple out-of-context statement I don't particularly disagree with.If california fell into the sea tomorrow, I wouldn't really mind.I really don't like it that much."Nothing I'd lament being rid of..."
11/11/2005 10:47:42 PM
"Wow, Bill O'Reilly said something asshole-ish and outrageous. Stop the fucking presses."We have a winner!

11/12/2005 2:42:30 AM
liberals talk so much about free speechwell here it is
11/12/2005 3:07:35 AM
Well, no matter how much san francisco wants to get rid of military recruiters and go back to hippe regalia, there is a law called the solomon amendment that allow them to recruit there as long as it is a public school. I think what is a bigger issue is how san francisco plans on banning guns in the city limits. Take away guns from the law abiding homeowners and allows hoodlums to rob without the fear of getting shot. Look what happened in dc.
11/12/2005 5:13:18 AM
Pat Robertson did about the same thing by telling Pennsylvanians that they better not expect God to be there if they ever get in trouble after voting intelligent design out of their public schools.http://www.cnn.com/2005/US/11/10/religion.robertson.reut/
11/12/2005 9:10:01 AM
^ Which includes at least RPD and NCSU
11/12/2005 9:16:58 AM
in his defense, it was most likely spoken in his sarcastic/hypothetical tone, not to be taken seriously. however it was sill stupid to say
11/12/2005 9:52:05 AM
I'm grateful that the military recruiters around here have kept us safe from terrorism.
11/12/2005 10:05:03 AM
hyperbole it's reactions like this that encourage him to continue saying this kind of shit
11/12/2005 10:36:10 AM
san francisco is wonderful city
11/12/2005 11:05:18 AM
yea i dont think what he said was all that bad; it was stupid and pointless to ban recruiters out of schools. if u dont wanan go into the army, just tell them u dont. and o'reilly wasnt being serious, and anyone who thinks that he was is an idiot. he was simply trying to make a point. once again, this is how liberals try to blow things out of porportion
11/12/2005 11:24:39 AM
san diego is better

I watch O'Reilly almost every night and he gets hate mail from both far right conservatives and far left liberals. He's pretty balanced on most issues.
11/12/2005 7:33:30 PM
And I think that San Fran should not be protected if they're not going to contribute.

He went too far in my opinion a while ago
11/12/2005 11:46:32 PM
when he says balanced on most issues, it means that people from both end of the spectrum disagree with him. It depends on the issue really. In most cases he's pretty conservative, but I believe he doesn't support the death penalty for instance. You can't necessarily pigeonhole him.
11/13/2005 12:04:39 AM
IT WAS IN JESTGODDAMN YOU PEOPLE AND YOUR PRETTY PINK PANTIES THAT WAD UP SO EASILY
11/13/2005 1:40:39 AM
all you do is bitch about people bitching.frankly, it's as bad as anyone.
11/13/2005 1:47:47 AM
You really can pigeonhole him, when he actively supports Republicans, hates most Democrats other than Lieberman, and uses "liberal" as a derogatory term.Differing with the GOP on a handful of issues does not make him balanced. It just makes him only 85% GOP mouthpiece.
