I know its Carolina, but who would benefit us more by losing? One is division hated rival, the other is a hated rival. Cant they both lose?

^I think it's safe to say neither of us are winning the division.

I know that, but towards bowl selections which one do we need to lose? We can still beat Maryland, so maybe it would be better if they won. I cant get myself to pull for UNC anyway.

We would rather have UMD win.

If UMD wins:
UMD increases to 3-3 in conference, 5-4 overall. They have NCSU and BC left to play. There's a good possibility of them losing both of those games to finish at 3-5, 5-6. They could possibly win one of those games for 4-4, 6-5. The UMD win looks very iffy from this angle - there are a lot of possibilities left.
UNC falls to 3-3 in conference, 4-5 overall. They have VT and Duke left to play. They most likely split those games to finish at 4-4, 5-6. The UMD win looks good from this angle.

If UNC wins:
UMD falls to 2-4, 4-5. After NCSU and BC, they are either 2-6, 4-7 or 3-5, 5-6. The only way UMD becomes bowl eligible is to win both of those games, which is pretty unlikely. The UNC win looks good from this angle.
UNC increases to 4-2, 5-4. After VT and Duke, UNC will likely end up 5-3, 6-5, bowl eligible with a very good conference record. The UNC win looks very, very, very bad from this angle.

Pull for UMD.

^Because its on ABC, and ABC primarily does regional broadcasts, and they dont see the money in broadcasting a regional game in high-def (they are right, to some extent). The only regular season college game theyve done in HD was FSU and Miami this year, but it was a national broadcast.

That is pretty cool that the UF/USC game is online for free since it's not on locally here..
