MTV's MADE features ComedySportz: Wednesday Nov 9th, 10PM
http://www.mtv.com/onair/made/assets/videos/index_vids_sea6cyc2.jhtml

Alyssa didn't know what she wanted to do but the producers liked her so much that they decided they would help her figure out if she could be a "comedian" which she was interested in. She trained with ComedySportz in Minneapolis for a few weeks. They wanted drama, they wanted her to be pushed hard, etc. After training Alyssa went to ComedySportz Chicago to audition for the show! Rumor has it she was a lot of fun, but not ready yet.

I used to go to the one in raleigh quite a lot back when it wasn't at its present location. I forgot where it was before but a friend of mine was jewish and the people that owned it went to his temple or smthg. I think it was about 10 years ago now. Maybe it was in city market or msthg??? Now its on person or peace street right? I always mix those up. I've only been to the new one once i believe. I think I have a judge wapner from back in the day. Do y'all still use those? Oh the memories.

I was in that Campbell show! We were fucking fantastic. Of course, now I'm with Comedy Sportz. Which is weird to type, because at the first of the Campbell shows, I was with Comedy Sportz. Only it's a different Comedy Sportz than the Comedy Sportz that was there. But the show is the same.

Yeah, you can check out Comedy Worx, too, if you want. They're also quite funny, but they're less funny than they were a few months ago, because I'm now with Comedy Sportz.

It is at 7:30.

Later in the night, the DSI Comedy Theater does all sorts of insanely funny, crazy-assed shit that you won't see anywhere else.

Not enough Jill or enough Comedy Sportz to make me want to watch this again. By the way, I'm with Comedy Sportz...in case no one knew.

The clips were ridiculous, and the girl's personal coach has been compared to Jesse Ventura with a serious pancake fetish, but the coverage was pretty good.

It showed ComedySportz in Minneapolis and Chicago, and the girl won a year worth of free classes at ANY ComedySportz in the world (there are almost 30 official ComedySportz® clubs, including Dublin and Chorley UK). Watching ComedySportz is like going to see a Wrestling event, its comedy wrapped up in a competition (steel cagematch not *always* included). Seeing a live show will be totally different than watching Alyssa be taught basic games.

I don't remember the "be a part of tonight's show" portion of my audition. MTV certainly pulled strings there.

There was definitely not enough footage of ComedySportz on the show. Also, it was amazing that in just three weeks she was able to both suck and be really awesome at the three jobs she tried. That takes skill.

Oh, and in other news...I am also in ComedySportz and we have shows every weekend at the DSI Comedy Theater in Carrboro. ComedyWorx puts on an awesome show here in Raleigh. The SIC (or State Improv Community) puts on some great shows on campus, with the next being held 11/19 at Broughton Hall. The CIA is another improv group on campus which is doing awesome things. Oh, and Drew Carey and his cronies are in town this weekend.

that alone could lend even more credence to their suckage, that thy would give her a scholarship based on that.

however, since we know they did it for publicity to look like good guys/MTV paid for it, who knows

but see, you would think that they would show the funniest stuff. the shit they showed wasnt even close to funny

but anyway, maybe i would be otherwise convinced if i saw a performance, who knows
