thinking about buying a property inside the beltline and i've read the neighborhood plan on the wake county gov website and it makes fair mention of crime prevention, which is left out of almost all the other neighborhood plansi couldn't find anything like the durham crime mapper (http://www.ci.durham.nc.us/gis_apps/crimedata/dsp_entryform.cfm) for raleigh, but is anyone aware of map-based reporting for this kind of data in raleigh?i'm going to start calling the bueracrats later today, but i didn't think it could hurt to see if anyone else had tried to find this info

My mom has lived in SE Raleigh (inside 440) for 25 years and the crime rate is EXTREMELY low in our area. It has nothing to do with where we are but the simple fact people let their animals roam free and there's nothing like the look on a thief being chased by an 80lb rottweiler. We had a bit of trouble back when that area behind taco bell was turning into a ghetto. The combination of dogs and neighbors with guns drove that out quick. Plus the whole community talks a lot and isn't afraid of confronting people who are poking around.Oh yeah also forgot to mention that we have half a dozen police officers who live around here and patrol it daily.
