Has anyone ever ran seriously for any public office?

I'm feeling responsible lately, and after a while I might start to consider running for something. Shit needs to get done that doesnt, and it pisses me off sometimes

Professional politicians need to get out; We need some nontypical representation in government (be it local, state, or national), and damnit nobody seems to get getting anywhere.




The sad part is that this has been in the back of my head for quite a while now, and wondering if anyone has done this, and what their experiences have been.

Zack Medford and Thomas Croom are the only 2 TWWers that have tried so far as I know. Both got slammed on Election Day though...

I want to get into politics one of these days. Have to be after I'm out of the military, and probably won't be the first thing i do when i get out.

but i have my sights on the big time...congressman, senator, etc.
