Summary: The Government Accountability Office found that there are still some problems with the new electronic voting machines despite a massive investment. Congress wants states and voting machine manufacturers to get off their butts and clean this mess up before the 2006 Election.[Edited on November 3, 2005 at 12:20 PM. That is a good summary. Saying that the GAO "confirms voting fruad" is disingenuous at best. They found the possibility for tampering and fraud. I don't see any actual fraud found.

Electronic voting has some real problems, not the least of which is the possiblity for tampering. Not having a paper trail for votes is lunacy. You want touch screens? Fine, but print those individual ballots out and let me put that shit in the box myself. Count the paper ballots, not the damn computer output.I can't believe this is even an issue. Does anyone out there have complete trust in any corporation/government entity to not fuck up every once in awhile? I don't trust my damn ATM machine much less some voting machine.
