So ESPN is showing the Miami/Virginia Tech game primetime Saturday night, and ESPNU is showing the entire game with one camera - the Skycam. It'll be a continuous shot throughout the entire game.Is it possible to see ESPNU around here? I know that it's not available on campus. Gameplan doesn't include ESPNU games in their package. I heard that Time Warner has a contract with Fox Sports to carry THEIR college stations, which is why TWC doesn't carry ESPNU. Are there any other options? I'd just really like to see what it's like, even for just a little bit.

^^I friggin' love the DirecTV sports package. My dad gets it; that's all I watch when I'm staying with them.

^^???the camera that seemingly floats above the field, on four cables. Its the camera that always gives you the shot of the huddle from above, and the perspective from just over the shoulder of the QB. Pretty hot shit.

That will be pretty cool as long as I can get the HD feed at the exact same time as ESPNU feed on my other TV.

i'm suprised they haven't used ESPN 2 to show Michael Vick on the sidelines the entire game, show the game, not the older vick
11/2/2005 3:45:56 PM
i'd rather have the choice of not watching michael, put him on his own channel!

^ I hadn't heard that information before, it's good to know. The way my friend explained it, it was an "exclusive" contract for the college stations.

ESPN is charging out the ass for their special programming (HD, ESPNU, etc). Don't be surprised if within 2-3 years that ESPN programming is strictly a premium channel package like HBO. They know that they can command that and its driving up cable prices.
