scrager, you still around? I need a paint job... (I don't think he's around anymore)If not, anyone know of a good place to paint this and possibly install it too? I don't want to mess up my trunk by drilling a bunch of holes, since I'm not a profeshionawl:It's going on this:Should turn out somewhat like this:Not looking to spend too much (i.e. no more than $100 for paint and install... but I don't know the going rate for this kind of stuff)Yes, I know...... but atleast I'm not a hypocrite
10/27/2005 10:41:13 AM
did you get STI badges too?
10/27/2005 10:42:52 AM
No, no STi badges... that would be too much... I like rice... but I don't care much for name brand... rice is rice to me
10/27/2005 10:44:20 AM
Hate to tell you, slick, but $100 hardly covers the material.I can paint it for you, but I don't guarantee a 100% match on the paint, even if I use my expensive line (about 99.5% match guarantee). Now, $250 and we may talk. Go take it to Maaco or Peach or some other shitball place. They'll paint it for cheap.
10/27/2005 10:46:50 AM
Umm... I heard their paint jobs suck... ... anyone else got references? Get me in on a deal I'll be willing to go a little higher... but not $250. That's about how much that "stir fried teriyaki wing" cost me.
10/27/2005 10:52:00 AM
^^he just said some shitball place lol what to expect for ur money
10/27/2005 12:11:13 PM
good luck on getting anything worth a damn for less than $250......$250 is a pretty good deal, u should jump on it
10/27/2005 12:21:54 PM
its a cute looking spoiler. why is sanding primming and spray painting not a DIY job?you can rent a big sprayer if you need to. buy the paint online. [Edited on October 27, 2005 at 12:59 PM. Reason : -]
10/27/2005 12:57:43 PM
Why did you buy a spoiler without finding out how much painting it would cost?
10/27/2005 1:13:10 PM
haha, less than $250 for a paint job and labor? you got to be insane! I'd take that $250. But then again, when it comes to my car i don't go the cheap route. I want that shit to look good.
10/27/2005 1:18:29 PM
when it comes to paint you get what you pay for
10/27/2005 1:33:58 PM

10/27/2005 9:01:39 PM
^ I contemplated it... but then I started to cry after a while... so I rid my mind of the thought
10/27/2005 10:19:53 PM

10/27/2005 10:39:57 PM
you're scared to be the first with a flat black wrx
10/27/2005 10:45:53 PM

10/28/2005 12:10:44 AM
sorry, flat black can't cover the shit on your 240. No matter how you paint it, its still a piece of shit. A fast piece of shit.

10/28/2005 2:04:06 PM
esgargs, I will explain with simple, easy to read pictures...and ...... of my thread. Thanks
10/28/2005 3:12:00 PM
Well, to get back on track from one of esgargs usual sidetracks, there's a shop in Durham that I've used a few times for body work/paint. It's called:Classic Paint & Auto Body1951 Cheek RdDurham, NC 27704-5113 (919) 683-9680Really cheap, does pretty good work. The guy is a really small shop, kinda in a rough part of town. He's rough around the edges but has always done good work for me. Fixed a Toyota Camry for $800 when every other shop I called/visted wanted to charge me $2000-$2500. Also fixed a Ford F-150 for me. Neither one you could ever tell had been in a wreck. If you call/visit, he'll most likely ask you for the paint code from the VIN tag under the hood or in the door jam. If you've got that he can match the paint and do it no problem for you (I'm guessing).Worth a call. He'll probably ask you how you heard about it, just tell him a reference from a guy who's gotten work done by him before.
10/28/2005 3:20:53 PM
I would (not that I would put a spoiler on a car that didn't have one) just get a real STi spoiler that matches in color, used from a dismantler or junk yard, and sell this one.Ahmet
10/28/2005 3:35:27 PM
^not a bad ideer.But I'll still paint that one for $250.
10/28/2005 11:46:49 PM
http://www.thewolfweb.com/message_topic.aspx?topic=188998They offered me $150 ... [/end thread]
10/29/2005 12:50:50 AM
try jeffries down on lake wheeler, long story short, i had to replace a bumper on a friends car with one from a junkyard, and they painted it for me for $50, of course it was a black car, though, so they probably already had some of that color sitting arounddamn fire hydrants, always in the way when you're drunk [Edited on October 30, 2005 at 12:23 AM. Reason : ^that was after i had prepped and primed it]
10/30/2005 12:23:12 AM
Just get some carbon fibre stickers from a hobby-store and cover it up with those.
10/30/2005 12:34:06 AM
^ ... I'd probably rather rock teh gray primar!!1
10/30/2005 9:24:27 PM
Wish my car was riced out :-(
10/30/2005 9:31:07 PM
^ you can, you just need wood, stickers, and crome hubcabs (if you have steelies) from walmart. Added stuff would be to add a 4" soup can as your muffler.
10/30/2005 9:35:29 PM
^wood?
10/30/2005 9:37:39 PM
tumeric
10/30/2005 11:53:23 PM
instead of creating a new thread - just asking hererice or tasteful?http://www.viguera.net/maxima/deus_outside_catt.movhttp://www.viguera.net/maxima/deus_inside_catt.mov
11/8/2005 1:29:40 PM
^ that doesnt look bad.
11/8/2005 1:47:53 PM
Yeah, it looks pretty close to stock if that's a new maxima.
11/8/2005 1:56:04 PM
So you want to color your exhaust? I say paint it steel metallic gray
11/8/2005 1:56:35 PM
i don't want to color the exhaust of course - but yeah it looks close to a stock maxima - i included the audio clips for sound - is the sound too boisterous[Edited on November 8, 2005 at 2:09 PM. Reason : yes for a 2005 maxima]
11/8/2005 2:09:14 PM
you trying to fly?
11/8/2005 2:38:53 PM
^^it does sound a bit loud for a "sleeper" look thing... I would just get dual fartcans (since those are so loud anyways), but then I actually prefer the fartcan/single tip look (i.e. 350z exhausts).and it looks like 2.25" piping? do they not make anything with 2.5" at least?
11/8/2005 3:07:55 PM
^^Your sarcastic comment is semi-retarded.[Edited on November 8, 2005 at 3:08 PM. Reason : btw, who makes that maxima exhaust?]
11/8/2005 3:08:20 PM
i refuse to do a fart can - those are fucking lame - i'm not going for sound - i'm going for function but want it to sound nice also - when i hear a fart can i laugh that someone would even waste the time to install onecattman makes that particular one http://forums.maxima.org/showpost.php?p=4111650&postcount=9[Edited on November 8, 2005 at 3:14 PM.
