which one is better?
pico seems alot cheaper with about 50 slopes ($29 for students), but killington is bigger(about $50 per day)

i've never been to pico, but Killington is pretty overpriced for what it is. It's certainly better than anything within driving distance from the triangle, but it's like Aspen East. All glitz and little bang.

I lived up in Rutland for a year and joined the Pico physical/pool/etc. center there...I loved Pico...

Killington I have heard is more overpriced...but better slopes (or so I hear).

When are you going?

Killington is definitely worth going if you've never been.

But if being economical is a factor at all, this is the wrong place to go.

unless you're driving and/or going during that college week they have with the cheap rates on lift/lodging packages, you might as well go out west.

go fly into Salt Lake City and hit up Park City/Alta/Canyons/Solitude/Brighton/Snowbird/Deer Valley.

go fly to Reno and hit up the stuff at Tahoe.

by the way, Alta was only like $40-45/day last time i checked.

pico's lift ticket is $29 per day for college students and killington is $90 for 2 days for young adults

Lodging I found lowest was $35 per night. I think only problem will be the gas.
i'm expecting $200~$300 w/o food for the trip

^^there isn't enough difference (if any) in money to justify going to new england instead of out west.

I totally agree with that.

SLC is probably one of the cheapest cities to fly into and stay that's convenient to the mountains. Alta is about a 25 minute Interstate drive from SLC.

I'd like to go west definitely, but it's $695(NCSU snowboarding club) vs $200~300

if you are going up there, why not go to Mt. Snow or Okemo? Both are great places.
