I was driving a friend's car today and came to a NC HP checkpoint. Turns out the inspection on the car was out (March '05). Long story short, ended up with a dick of a cop and a $110 ticket for overdue inspection. Has anyone dealt with this before? I'm just curious as to whether or not this will affect my insurance. I know I can get proof of inspection and take that to the DA on my court date or what not and see about getting the ticket dropped. Any help on this matter would be appreciated.

checkpoint? in the middle of the day? where? illegal drivers need to know.

The ticket was to you and not to the owner of the car? That seems odd.

he was the one operating it. it's not neccessarily illegal to own a car out of inspection (depending on the situation) but definitely illegal to operate.

White Oak Road in Garner. They do a lot of them out there.. I don't understand why.. every couple of weeks or so there will be 5 or 6 state troopers out there checking licenses, registrations, and inspections.
