so my computer said my black ink was low (which i thought was weird because i bought a cartridge about a month ago). anyways, i bought a new one today and it still isn't working. my computer's help msg says the only thing to fix this problem is to buy a new cartridge, but obviously not. do you think it's some kind of internal problem with the printer or what?

have u tried uninstalling/reinstalling the entire printer to the computer

ok just did that. removed it as a driver, etc. etc. nothing happened. i removed the software and just added it back. it printed the test page and the color comes out (which it always has) but no black ink. i'm not sure what else to do. it's obviously a problem with the black ink...probably where it lines up with the cartridge? i dunno. is there any place that can fix this for cheap?

1st thing, did u take the tape off the new cartridge?check if there's a utility in the software with your printer to align the new cartridgeits not usually worth paying someone to fix a printer since they are so cheap

hp deskjet 3820. i'm having problems with the hp15 ink cartridge. well actually it's an off-brand but it's made to fit this model. i've used off brands previously and had no problems until the last two.

thanks for the link. looks like i'm not the only one who's had this problem. i'll probably just get a new printer. will stores take back opened ink?

they prob wont take it back, but office depot will give you a discount off your next purchase if you bring one in to recycle
