or turn off microsoft's Wireless Zero Configuration Service, basically allows your card to choose the wireless network instead of Windows...fixes a lot of these problems...damn Microsofthttp://www.ifelix.co.uk/tech/2000.html

assuming your card's wireless network connection services is worth a shit. I've found with that XP SP2 PCs, it's almost always better to not install any network connection utilities that come with the card, and just use the Windows Zero Configuration instead.

^I'm not doubting your experience, but my personal experience has been the opposite (I've seen turning the Wireless Zero Configuration off fix at least 5 XP SP2 PCs)

It is always better to use the built in windows wireless zero config to manage your connection.No card manufacturer to date has been able to provide software as good as the native windows client.All you want to install are the drivers.Of course if you're still having problems after that then the card may just be crap
