In the past month I have read The Life of Pi, Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, and American Gods. All three were really good, but all of them were very different.I just picked up Anansi Boys, which is a sequel of sorts to American Gods. What are you reading?

Did you like The Life of Pi? I thought it sucked.I'm reading One True Thing, which is girly and pretentious, and I'm having trouble reading it without falling asleep.Neil Gaiman is the man.The Time Traveller's Wife has been the best book I've read recently. I saw that they're making it into a movie, which I can't really imagine.

^i've wanted to read the time traveler's wife, b/c the premise seems really cool. but, i'm under the impression it's a book version of a chick flick. is it?last book i read was Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell, which was really good, i give it 8/10.before that, it was Adventures of Kavalier & Clay, i rate it 9/10.[Edited on October 5, 2005 at 6:37 AM. Currently reading The Confusion by Neal Stephenson. Second book of the Baroque Cycle. It's starting a bit slow, but parts of the first one (Quicksilver) drug a bit too, and I still really enjoyed it overall.

Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West by Gregory Maguire. I haven't finished it yet, but it is really good so far. I'm excited for the musical. Wait, I hate musicals.

in the past two months, read all the alex cross novels so far by james petterson - along came a spider, roses are red, big bad wolf, jack and jill, etc. fairly entertaining. good airplane, before bedtime, or by the pool reading. [i like series involving the same characters so i always read them all]next up, i think i will read "wicked: the life and times of the wicked witch of the west" and since i am a series type person i'll pick up robert jordan's latest "knife of dreams". i started reading the series in 7th grade. i'm not really big into it anymore but i can't just not read the last couple books and not know how it ends.[Edited on October 5, 2005 at 3:03 PM. i thought the life of pi was pretty decent. it was weird that the novel seemed to have a twist ending, but i guess it's not so much that it was meant to fuck with your mind, but give you a different perspective on what happened. i dunno.

I thought Life of Pi was great, my only beef was that the boat on the cover is like 1/4 the size the boat is actually supposed to be, which confused the shit out of me when there was a man, a tiger, a hyena, and an orangutan on the boat all at the same time.

I'm kind of hating Anansi Boys right now. I hate shit where bad things keep happening to one person over and over. Hopefully Spider will get his comeuppance.
