Too many formulas to memorize soI took the approach I figured Grainger would take:Small amount of foamy vars, combined with sweet watts of goodness. All joking aside, we are fucked.

you saw the mans email though , and he is so nice.
9/26/2005 10:33:01 PM
haha, actually i didn't read that part until now......damn!Well what can you say, its going to hard without those formulas

i love dr grainger... his 305 class was OK but 451 and 453 were the bestgood luckwhat topics are yall covering?
9/26/2005 11:28:24 PM
the basics3 phase, autotransformer, reluctance stuff
9/26/2005 11:38:08 PM
good luck with it....that three phase stuff can be pretty tricky when you're just learning it. from what i remember on grainger's quizzes, he's very particular to make certain that you know your phase and magnitude relationships between the various transformer configurations (Delta -> Wye, etc), and on line and phase voltages. Also remember the flow of current and voltage polarities determined by the transformer "dot" notationI can't remember what all he asked us about magnetic circuits, just know your flux, reluctance, and inductance equations

^ yes he does, power is not only awesome, but it will come in handy for a lot of EE and ME's in the future.Later on in the class in 305 you'll start studying machines, DC and AC. If you ever work in the industry where you use any types of machinery, you'll need to know the properties of these machines (most likely today would be brushless DC, aka synchronous machines with DQ-winding controllers)
