I have no intention of getting cable or satellite but I would like to hang a little lcd tv on the wall in our kitchen. What are my best options?

HDTV signals are very picky about pickup, susceptible to reflections

(ghosting on an analog set, murder to a digital signal) especially if you're using an indoor antenna.

WRAL used to have a free HD antenna available, dunno if they still do, but it's definitely worth a call.

I've heard good things about the channel master 4228.

I use OTA HDTV in Charlotte, it's pretty good but I dont get all the channels because I live in an apt. building facing the wrong way. I think if you're clear of obstructions and within range, you should be good to go. Outdoor antennas are better if you dont mind the eyesore. The few channels I am able to pickup look a lot better than HD over cable providers (I also have Adelphia HD) and are pretty consistent.

I have a TERK HDTVi indoor antenna from Radio Shack, with a fusionhdtv 5 card in my pc.. and get great quality digital for WRAL, WTVD, WNCN, WRAZ.. and if I aim the antenna just right i can get a steady signal from WLFL (WB), but that's just because WB is at reduced power instead of full power.

I live in North Raleigh (Creedmoor/Strickland area) and the antenna is pointed directly at the wall in my closet in the southeastern direction, with no other walls beyond it. So I'm a good 18-20 miles from the towers in Auburn.

you want a little lcd tv and hdtv... why? i can understand it with a bigger tv, but i wonder how much visible difference there is on a smaller tv?

there is definetly an insane difference on a larger screen incase you haven't seen one in person... i couldn't believe the difference on my plasma, i switch it between regular channels and the hdtv vesion just to listen to people go OH SHIT!!

anyways, yeah, just save some money and get a big one so it'll be worth it
