It's gone up about 600% in the last 3 weeks as far as buildings off Tyvola, West, etc being broken into...hmmm...it went up right around the time the Katrina evacuees were sent to the Coliseum...hmmm
9/21/2005 11:38:57 AM
surprised?
9/21/2005 11:41:29 AM
no not really, but instead of me just expecting it, i heard it from people who work out there that had their business broken into, as well as neighboring businesses
9/21/2005 11:43:30 AM
Those damn criminals! Won't anybody shoot them for their transgressions!?!?
9/21/2005 11:44:16 AM

9/21/2005 12:25:53 PM
link plz
9/21/2005 12:53:18 PM
i personally talked to business owners in the area...how do i link that?
9/21/2005 2:25:33 PM
It's awfully generous of these business owners not to report these crimes against their business to the police. And incredibly meticulous of them to do the research needed to get the 600% number.[Edited on September 21, 2005 at 2:55 PM. Reason : .]
9/21/2005 2:48:34 PM
anecdotal
9/21/2005 2:53:18 PM
And even more incredibly naive and ignorant to dismiss the possibility that a few hundred poor refugees, some fresh off a looting spree in New Orleans, would break into any other buildings! Oh my that would be out of the realm of imagination for people with no homes and $2,000 to their names to try and get something for themselves...I'm sure they just go to church and pray and yeah I'm sure they actually sold those Louis Vuitton bags for food money
9/21/2005 2:54:49 PM
Then what's your point?
9/21/2005 2:55:46 PM
two pointsa. you're a retardb. the crime rate HAS gone up, due to the evacuees...seemed pretty straightforward when i posted it...didnt think you'd have so much trouble with it
9/21/2005 2:56:44 PM
BLING BLING
9/21/2005 2:57:47 PM
1. smoke more weed. no, really. smoke more weed.2. didn't think you'd have so much trouble finding news that backs your anecdotes
9/21/2005 2:58:58 PM
a. oh skipb. You've yet to prove anything, beyond your inability to argue. However--of course adding thousands of refugees to a dense city would increase the crime rate. I'm wondering why this pearl of wisdom was thread worthy.[Edited on September 21, 2005 at 3:03 PM. Reason : ab]
9/21/2005 3:03:28 PM
^^yeah do me a favor...instead of just reading my post without bias, considering what you should know about the desperation of the evacuees, recognizing that its possible that some of these evacuees would commit B&E crimes...instead of that just say some dumb shit about my 2001 screennamessjamind...whats that saudi? you a terrorist?^yeah cause all threads on TWW are threadworthy...i like how you fags need links to basic thingsNEW TOPIC: The sun is hot!Reply: OMG I DONT BELIEVE YOU WITHOUT A LINK SINCE YOU'RE NOT A BLEEDING HEART LIBERAL]
9/21/2005 3:04:23 PM
haha, the soap box is so much more entertaining to read since treetwista all of a sudden turned from whigger rapping pot smoker into a stark republican and decided he needed to post here.

^gosh that sure is a soul-shattering quote...really moving...did Kennedy write that? No, Roosevelt? Gosh I envy you^^ ]
9/21/2005 3:16:29 PM
9/21/2005 3:20:46 PM
oh man i sure get a whole new meaning for the exact same words when multiple people keep quoting it...now THAT my friends...THAT is the key to having the ability to argue...I wish I had that ability instead of my apparent inability to argue...so I should try just copying and pasting other quotes that liberals deem "pwnage"? Ok thanks! I'm gonna go sign up for debate class and pwn the professor!

9/21/2005 3:27:17 PM
^give me a quick synopsis of the pre-Katrina crime in the Coliseum area? Cause you obviously know in order to make any unsubstantiated claims of your own...I'm waiting...Cause if there had been 1 crime in that area in the last year, and all the sudden there were 6 in the last month...would that be a huge media coverup? Ooops, carry on, you know everything ever]

9/22/2005 9:14:45 AM
the difference is that people who troll don't beleive or care about what they are saying
9/22/2005 9:16:57 AM
evidence?what is your time frame? what is your documentation? what neighborhoods were victimized? Per my resource East Charlotte still maintains the highest crime rate and according to cmpd and to be honest if you live in charlotte, I'd worry more about meth and the east side gangs. The evacuees have not been a significant presence in the coliseum area in a week with little more than 100 evacuees staying in the center. I don't see how 600% is correct because at night the coliseum was locked down, and during the day any who wanted to do so were allowed to walk within the coliseum boundaries and any travel outside of the coliseum was provided by 10 city buses that transported them throughout the city. After the first week of evacuees the coliseum area was primarily a red cross central station. [Edited on September 22, 2005 at 9:33 AM. Reason : d]
