Can you weld me some kinda pole I can have in sections and then assemble and take apart easily. Specifically, sort of a mobile flagpole. Needs to be 50-100 feet. Any ideas?

do you have anything in mind as far as how it connects, and do you have any materials?who let gargs in the garage? this shit is getting stupid.

i would say you don't even need a welder. just get pipes that can fit inside each other and drill a hole and put a bolt through it. the more overlap you have, the more stable it will be. i would also suggest two holes in the overlap that are perpendicular to each other. also, the tighter the fit of the pipes, the more stable it will be.

this must be for your rebel flag for mule days this weekend

just use pipe fittings

you do realize how tall 100ft is, right?now consider that normal flag poles have some form of taper to them as they go up....ya know, to help with stabilityalso consider that normal pipe (which i would assume you would try to use) is gonna be heavy, and in segments is gonna sway like a bitch and be potentially real damn dangerousalso, the cost is gonna be real high....im saying that only because i hope that if you still want to do this little project that you will use appropriate materialsi can continue as to why this is not the best idea if these points havent helped

yeah I mean it's not going to be easy, and I've considered all of the problems you mentionedI just need something really tall to put a flag on for tailgating

id say 50 ft is more than tall enoughif you use some guy wires you can make a pvc pole pretty high

I wont claim it as my own project but I once helped a guy build 3 flagpoles out of galvanized fence post tubing. I cant recall the exact height of each section, but each pole had 3 sections, likely 10ft each (30ft total height). We had a muffler shop expand the last 4-6 in of the mid and upper sections and then we actually clamped them, again with fencepost clamps. This only lasted a few months of use before becoming extra flexible in the wind and we had them welded.

ill do the welding for you, but i take no responsibility for the integrity of the design, the welds wont fail but the pole mightso you design it up real good, and holla
