i'm gonna start swapping out the ttb for a stright axle on my bronco soon got my leaf-springs, metal, bla bla, just can't find an axle anybody have one or know where i can find one? it's gotta be full width cuz my bronco is a full size and driverside pumpkin.

I have a friend that has a dana 44 out of a 78 ford, 3:91 gear ratio and disc brakes. Says it can be yours for $200. Also have a few other parts off this truck if you need drive shafts of something like that.

same guy has an older Ford with leaf springs but the axle has drum brakes on it...i think its like a 76 ford high boy

hate to say it but i'm still looking. found a few but they must be made of gold. does anyone have a full width ford HP 44 leaf sprung housing they want to get rid of? or a dana 60 ford hp out of a 85-97 f350?

you gonna pay out the ass for a 60. There is a guy near 242 and 50 in Johnston co that may have one, he had one last time I was there. He dosent have a phone and only takes cash. I will be by there saturday after next, I can check on it then if you can wait.

i've got plenty of time i took the ttb off over a month ago and it's been sittin on jackstands since. i don't want to pay too much for a dana 44 becouse i know i'll need some moly shafts at the least and probably some other parts where the 60 should hold up fine so i'm willing to pay more

i was running 39.5 super swamper iroks on the ttb it held up well for about half the life of the tires but recently i became unalignable anything would knock it out only real strignth issue i had was the hubs till i got some warn hubs then the u-joints didn't like me anymore after the swap i'm gonna lock it in the front so i'm sure the weak point is gonna be the shafts then. and i might go up to a set of 42ish swampers or boggers when the iroks wearout so thats why i was thinking about the 60. there should be a pictue or two in my photo gallery after it was painted

in that case go with the 60plenty of people will bitch and moan that a 44 can handle those sizes, and in some cases, with some amount of luck, they are rightbut since you are doing the swap and im assuming you wont want to do it again in the near future, just go with a 60, and be done with itlike i said before, ive dealt with highhonda in the past and he will find any 60 you could want, with whatever set up you are looking for (gears, lockers, widths, bj or kingpin, etc)

for a d60, weighing 600# crated, almost 6' long was about $200-250but that is total, he includes both the crating and shipping for that much and the crate he built was damn near bombproof

i guess the real question is what should i expect to pay for a junk yard axle. i found 2 ones in boone and the other is like 50 miles from here but i'm not sure what kinda price i should be looking for so whats the prices you guys have seen for late model, 93-94ish, dana 60's going for.

uhh.....not positive if there ever were any that had them prior to 92.....but anything after 92 had BJsdepending on the application, i would say to get one from pre-92 (but then again, im a big kingpin fan)otherwise, 92-98 (i think) are still decent in some situationsanything after 98 is crap****All these Ford versions were drivers side differential, reverse-cut (high pinion) gears, and kingpin knuckles to 1991.5 and balljoints thereafter**** (just saw this)*fords not my thing so this could be a bit off......try here to be sure http://www.pirate4x4.com/tech/billavista/60_front/[Edited on November 10, 2005 at 6:05 PM. the two axles i found are priced right then only problem is they are both ball-joint axles and i really wanted the kingpin style. ewstephe just let me know about that axle i'll still be looking around at least that long cuz i'm cheap.
