How do I get them if HP doesn't make them anymore?

You called them and they told you they don't make them anymore? The computer must be old if HP no longer makes the restore disk. Try calling them. Chances are they will send one out for $5.I know that for the past few years HP has put the restore 'disk' on a seperate partition. You don't feed it disks - it just grabs what it needs from the partition. If push comes to shove (and I do this with a brand new out of the box CPU anyway) you can always reformat and put what you want on the CPU. You often only need to dig up a random driver or two. Now if you don't have Windows or other install media - buy a new CPU?

basically, it is my uncle's laptop that he loves, top of the line about 3 or 4 years ago, and it has slowed down to dinosaur pace for some reason, so I was going to restore it to its original factory settings. How would I got about doing this?

If it is running slow maybe you should just run some anti spyware software on it.

haha, it is going to slow to run anything, it would take about 3 hours just to connect to the internet to get some spyware software
