i love it. Can't get it to run on my desktop which is pretty high end (direct X error) but i just haven't had time to trouble shoot. runs on my laptop with max graphics just fine though.

(3.2 P4 HT. 2gb DDR2. x600 256mb. 7200rpm 60gb hdd. Audigy 2 ZS notebook.) Thats the laptop specs. desktops are a lot better but can't seem to run it haha.

^Have you seen footage of this game in action. It looks sick. If you got troops stationed near a cliff or something, and a cannon pops them, they actually fly off the cliff screaming. It's rad

I used to play multiplayer made senerio maps quite a lot in aoe II. Even then I would get slow down, so my set up probably couldn't handle this one. I gotta upgrade my video card another 96 megs than maybe I could play it.

Definitely needs some QA/polish work ... the one card that lets you promote your male explorer to colonel gives you the message "Your promotion ... has been excepted". Other things here and there which were annoying/made no sense.

No problem with graphics on 9800 pro ... leave antialiasing off and you should be ok. I'll admit, it did slow down like hell when there were like 100 units fighting each other at once ... same thing as Starcraft w/Protoss ships. I wonder what they are going to do with 8 ppl multiplayer ... I can't see a server handling it.

running on a 1.8 AMD and a 9700 with mostly high settings fine

game is more of a beta than a demo.. they even had some news releases saying how a lot of the things in the game have been changed/tweaked, etc, etc.. but they did not have time to fix it up for the demo

in any case - I do think it is pretty fun - just doing some hard+ skirmishes to get a feel for it and try different tactics.. I think it could be pretty good for multiplayer

although it feels TERRIBLY slow after playing Rise of Nations so much

There seemed to be alot of things missing in the demo. How's the variety in the retail version, mainly tech wise? Can you choose more options about your skirmishes like map size, etc? What about that huge UI, can it be shrunk? How much is the game lacking?

Gotta know that stuff before I buy it.

the demo is a poor version of the game. For starters the graphics look good lol due to anti-aliasing working proparly. Also you can customize and shrink down the UI as little or as much as you need. you can even hide it completely (but you have to have a pretty powerful machine to do that) Definitly worth buying it.
