= FAG
9/4/2005 4:02:07 PM
I don't get it.
9/4/2005 4:04:31 PM
tip is too small. needs to be at least 5", and needs some led's
9/4/2005 4:44:11 PM
wow a ricer joke, how well placed considering this is for an audi....
9/4/2005 4:52:35 PM
the car does not make the ricethe owner and their tastes/modifications make the rice.
9/4/2005 6:53:21 PM
I've seen a riced NSX, believe it or not.
9/4/2005 7:30:00 PM
^ me too, a magazine dumped something like 30 grand worth of stuff into an nsx and did nothing to the engine. It was ugly.
9/4/2005 7:37:18 PM
9/4/2005 8:29:45 PM
waste
9/4/2005 8:40:19 PM
i was just saying that just stating that the car is an audi does not exempt it from being rice
9/4/2005 8:54:11 PM
since it's an audi, it's not rice. it's reis
9/4/2005 10:38:31 PM
not rice.nice.
9/4/2005 10:45:11 PM
was just a joke, seriously though, it shouldn't look half bad.
9/4/2005 10:55:05 PM
i think he's seriousbuy a whole catback system dude, don't mess with universals in your case. You drive a luxury car so buy a system that reputably sounds tasteful
9/5/2005 12:17:39 AM
I don't want to spend $1000+ that's the thing.
9/5/2005 12:32:32 AM
yeah but the 1000 bucks will probably make a bigger difference
9/5/2005 2:48:13 AM
Of what, 15 horsepower?
9/5/2005 2:53:37 AM
Is there something wrong w/the stock exhaust? I'd just put another stock system on there...Ahmet
9/5/2005 3:23:24 AM
I want the growl of an aftermarket, and the stock tip is a measly 1" dual rusted pos.
9/5/2005 12:36:46 PM
you'd be better off starting with a header, and build your system back from there, what you are doing is like a brain surgeon going in through someone's ass
9/5/2005 10:59:48 PM
So I should invest in a high flow cat, is that what you're saying?I don't know if they sell aftermarket headers for audis, I'll have to check.
9/5/2005 11:01:13 PM
once you get your turbo fixed, I don't know if you have, then buy a turbo back exaust, or the pieces to one, and have it put in. Down pipe (cat included), resonator, muffler.
9/5/2005 11:03:50 PM
^It's been fixed for like two months
9/5/2005 11:17:02 PM
here's what you need for an exhaust system
9/5/2005 11:17:54 PM
I'd much rather get this:But I don't have $1000 to spend.
9/5/2005 11:28:52 PM
Have you been going to 123 lately?
9/5/2005 11:42:29 PM
either do it right the first time or dont touch it at all. i have been impressed with magnaflow exhausts for mustangs. there systems usually fit really well and are easy to install.
9/5/2005 11:58:43 PM
^^what?
9/6/2005 12:53:39 AM
It won't be a growl matt, it'll sound like a fart can. The high end exhausts don't net you more power, but sound quiet at low rpm and let out a nice growl at higher rpms when you hit the gas. That should be the way you want it.While it will be cool at first, but will eventually be like your MR2, that is, it'll be loud all the time. If you don't mind that, then go for it. Otherwise try and save up for a 400$ system if you can.It probably won't look bad though, so its not exactly 'rice'.
9/6/2005 9:45:35 AM
You guys can be retarded sometimes. A 1.8T isn't going to sound like a "fart can" even with no mufflers. I can't imagine it sounding that bad with a magnaflow muffler either. Honestly, it probably wont sound bad at all.Ahmet, did you not have a 3" turbo back with no cats and a single magnaflow muffler on your silver 951?But yeah, I really don't think it's going to sound bad or anything. NA cars can sound like "fart cans" when you don't have a resonator and shyte. But it's pretty hard to make a turbo car sound like a "fart can."0, if you are only replacing the rear muffler section and leaving in the stock cat and resonator, it isn't going to be very loud. If you take out the resonator and put in that muffler, it still wont be rediculously loud. But yeah, I'd say it's not going to give you any power to put on that muffler. It will give you noise though. (I can't believe that small section of piping/muffler you showed earlier costs $1000 btw).[Edited on September 6, 2005 at 10:30 AM. Reason : wtf]

Thanks for the info. I found a catback exhaust system for around $500, I think I might save up for it since it isnt' that much more than a custom built one.

I've heard raspy turbo cars, but never anywhere near the level of "riceyness" that a NA motor can obtain.
9/6/2005 1:38:49 PM
Yea I'm a big fan of some the aftermarket exhausts they put on audi's.Very classy.
