just saw an interesting interview on the news about the public hospital in New Orleans that still has 200+ patients left waiting for evacuation relief while they watched the TOTAL evacuation of the neighboring private Univ of Tulane hospital including the nurses and doctors.it is a shame that the true colors of how this country are run is started to shine thru.Funny how relief came so quickly for the financial district in New York on 9/11 but it has been 6 days now and relief in the poor parts of New Orleans has been half ass.But then again why in the hell would Bush rush to care about this, it's not like he has to worry about being re-elected.

I am sure America has enough helicopters to airlift entire Raleigh in 6 hours.

you know what the media hasn't been reporting on?that busses were going through neighborhoods, yes even black ones, for two days prior to the storm
9/3/2005 7:54:18 AM
Has anybody stopped to consider the logistics of the situation? Do you people really think that there weren't any poor people who were being treated at the Tulane hospital? Could the Tulane hospital have been easier for the rescuers to get to?
9/3/2005 9:08:33 AM
isnt the tulane hospital like right up the street from teh super dome?

The bombings at the WTC was in a confined area no where nearly widespread as destruction in NO
9/3/2005 10:54:53 AM
NO has been devastated tens times more than NYC. To even compare the two is laughable. I don't think Bush is/should be personally responsible for micromanaging rescue operations, but I am too amazed at the authorities' inabilities to at least maintain control of the city.
9/3/2005 11:16:51 AM
This shows me everything that is wrong with America, people do not want to work hard and try to dodge responsibility, about day 2 everyone was looking around wondering when someone else besides themselves was going to go in there and do the blue collar work
9/3/2005 11:24:18 AM
^ I agree with that wholeheartedly.
9/3/2005 1:20:23 PM
Hmm let's compare shall we.....Two buildings (yes rather HUGE buildings) but nonetheless two buildings in New York are attacked by terrorists and said buildings fall to the ground.VERSUSAn area larger than the size of Great Britain is totally wiped out with no clean water, no electricity, no transportation etc as a result of a massive hurricane/floodingWhich of the two would take longer to reach, to mobilize help for, and gather survivors? duh, I dunno maybe the area affected by the hurricane?!?!?![Edited on September 5, 2005 at 1:38 AM. we sent tsunami relief in THE DAY AFTER IT HAPPENED
9/5/2005 1:41:48 AM
Well, in the case of the Tsunami, we had an aircraft carrier fleet within flying distance within a day. We didn't have any within range of New Orleans, and all the airports in the area were rendered useless. That said, if you actually ask the Tsunami victims, while we were helping the next day, the vast majority of the heavily populated areas didn't see an american aircraft for weeks.
9/5/2005 9:18:45 AM
^ and a lot of the economic assistance provided to the Tsunami victims actually fucked them over by causing housing costs to sky rocket, etc... so we really didn't do a wonderful job there neither.Needless to say, The local government of NO had no plan.I think that anyone with just the slightest ability to think, having seen a cat 5 hurricane the larger than the Gulf of Mexico, would have enough common sense to get the fuck out.But no, some stayed for their pets, some for the looting, some because they didn't want to leave - they made the choice, they have to deal with the consequences. And I would say it should be quite difficult to assist some areas since folks were fucking shooting at the damn rescue copters.NO should not be rebuilt.Only an idiot would rebuild a destroyed city under water.

It's your fault if you get stuck in a flood. How convenient this makes it for us to not have to bother helping them. I wonder what jesus would do.

hmmm. let me try the liberal response for a change...go fuck yourself
9/5/2005 12:31:26 PM
Go back to Chit Chat and cry some more about $200 that you lost.
9/5/2005 12:32:34 PM
I didnt lose it.
9/5/2005 12:33:44 PM
What I will probably do is actually continue to donate money to the cause, and run relief air missions this week (expected) for the people of NO, where your sorry ass is probably jacking off to russian porn and bitching on TWW about how we need to do more.
9/5/2005 12:35:23 PM
*yawn* You suck at guessing... much like you suck at everything else.
9/5/2005 12:38:03 PM
is that so? Thats why you have such a clever response? Let me guess. You're writing your congressmen asking for them to do more?

Disater relief in New York could at least drive to the disaster area. In NO the fucking bridges are gone, and the only road not gone is under water!
