Ok, so I was driving my boyfriend's '90 Honda Accord and hit a pothole on the edge of the road (the asphalt had chipped away on the side past the white line and into the road) and it popped both of passenger side tires. Originally it wasn't a big deal, they were bought used and were nearly bald anyway. Problem is that the pothole also bent the rims, so now they are no good. They are the original manufacturer ones, nothing fancy, but buying new wheels is much more expensive than buying new tires.

I had been told by a guy at JustTires to take a picture of the pothole and the state would pay for the damage, but if you don't get a picture before they fill in the hole, you're screwed and they won't give you anything. Unfortunately for me, they filled it in before I could take a picture, although I was just going on the word of this crazy tire salesman.

So, my question is, does anybody know anything about the state reimbursing for damaged caused by bad roads whether they've fixed it or not? Or, does anyone know where I can get two cheap OEM wheels for a '90 Accord (a specific junk yard that might be good to try would help too)?
