If you were Clinton and were getting blown every hour of the day you wouldn't need a vacation.
9/1/2005 12:21:58 AM
well maybe we need to get ol dubya some fucking whores thenbecause clearly it takes an act of God to get him to come into the office
9/1/2005 12:30:52 AM
^he does have a direct line to the big guy
9/1/2005 1:18:45 AM
Well maybe the rest of the time he works like 24 hours a day- he might deserve more vacation more than we thinkbeing President is kinda a lot of responsibility don't you think?
9/1/2005 2:27:27 PM
thats a big fucking "maybe"
9/1/2005 2:30:29 PM
Without being partisan on this, is it too much to ask that the guy with the most important job in the country shouldn't really get a vacation at all?Don't get me wrong, I understand it'r probably a HELL of a lot of pressure, and I can never really fully appreciate what it's like to be President, but I still don't think that would be too much to ask. There are people who work menial jobs in this country that don't get to take any vacation at all. Obviously it's a job that is less intelluectually challenging, but still, people do it.And yeah everyone can come yell, "Two terms is EIGHT YEARS, he HAS to take a vacation." But seriously...you can't tell me that there is NO ONE that could go eight years of his life without taking a vacation. Yes, it would be fucking hard. Yes, it would be stressful. But if you aren't up to it, DON'T RUN.Once again, Bush, Clinton, Nixon, Carter, FDR, who cares...I don't think it is too much to expect the guy that wants to be president to not take a vacation for 4 years. If it was too much for him, he doesn't have to run again.[Edited on September 1, 2005 at 3:09 PM. Reason : cuz]

Mark Twain would understand why George Bush should take a vacation:"No man’s life, liberty, or property are safe while the legislature is in session."I assume the same can be said for when the President is on duty.

First off Clinton took working vacations a good bit, its just his working vacations and a lot of other presidents vacations were spent at Camp David. Bush likes his ranch and goes there for vacation.
9/1/2005 3:33:17 PM
I.10TYou do realize that Bush never actually has a vacation. He spends time away from Washington but he still has meetings with his staff every day and is making decisions every day. He is still on the Job.If all you can criticize Bush for is taking a 5-week "vacation" you are not trying hard enough. It makes you sound petty.
9/1/2005 3:34:01 PM
^most of the people on this site are liberal and still haven't gotten over the Election in 2000, and they hold petty grudges
9/1/2005 3:40:28 PM
ok sure. and you guys haven't gotten over that blowjob yet.

I could care less about his BJ's, just his horrible taste in women
9/1/2005 4:03:02 PM
At least while Bush is on vacation, he can still run the country. I don't think Clinton was doing much thinking while all the blood was in his penis. But, then again, I guess he couldn't do much damage to the country while getting blown, but that's for another thread.

It's a working vacation in the most real sense. He is capable of permforming the overwhelming majority of his Presidential duties from Crawford. My only complaint is that it can't be particularly cheap to set up in Crawford while we already have everything set up at Camp David, and of course that taking such a long vacation when people already give you shit about your vacations is politically retarded.
9/1/2005 4:04:54 PM
yeah but he is a Lame Duck
9/1/2005 4:07:33 PM
That doesn't mean you flip off the American public. Things Clinton did in his last term that he caught shit for still come up in elections (albeit from less-than-genius forces), and I've no doubt the same can be said for Bush.

"if you don't like breathing in smog every now and then, DONT BREATHE!!! come on, thats the dumbest argument ever to try and support your lame ass attempt at a "point." I hate to point out the obvious problem with this analogy you attempt to make, but people have to breathe to stay alive. You don't have to run for president to stay alive. It requires actual decision making as to whether you should run for president or not, it doesnt not require a decision over whether you should breathe or not....Oh and yeah...burnout is a "bitch"...I certainly hope he doesn't get suffer from major burnout while people are dying[Edited on September 2, 2005 at 10:39 AM. someone find the thread where smoker laid out for the inept how different jobs require different shit, and how most people apply their situations to the idea of a president taking a vacation, etc.not beacuse its not obvious but beacuse he did a good job laying it out for the idiots
9/2/2005 10:53:24 AM
I think it's funny that Chavez gave us a million dollars for the hurricane relief, but apparently only did it so he would get the publicity of calling Bush "king of vacations".
9/2/2005 10:54:10 AM
^^I think that works better than my latte joke. Smoker is the man.

Look dude, I don't like Dubya in the least bit but running a country is stressful.
