"Thursday, September 29 at 8/7c

In the season premiere episode, after learning that the man she has known as Michael Vaughn is under investigation and suspected of being a double agent, Sydney begins to question whether their business and personal relationship over the years had all been a lie. When she discovers that she's pregnant with Vaughn's baby, she becomes determined to uncover the truth about him. Meanwhile, because of Jack's past betrayal by Irina, he begins to worry that his daughter may suffer the same fate that he did.

This season, new agents will be introduced and a nefarious organization will come to light in Sydney's life as she fights to protect her unborn child -- all the while traveling incognito, outsmarting the bad guys and keeping the world safe."

Yeah since shes pregnant and eventually wont be able to do too much action, they decided to just write it into the show. Cant say Im that excited about this. Between this, the move to Thursdays at 8PM, and the always low ratings, this will undoubtedly be the last season. Hopefully they can somehow manage to finish the the series strong by the end of the year.

her getting preggers will probably ruin the show unfortunately. at most i'd say a 6th season, unless something great really happens w/ this season.

BULLSHIT

Its not the official last season yet, but its on against Smallville, The OC, and Survivor...coupled with its subpar ratings for 4 seasons, its a safe bet.

Im not at all surprised they killed Vaughn off...though I will be surprised if he doesnt come back to life before the season is over.

Making bad guys regulars is a bad move...remember season 3?

Rachel Nichols is great eye candy, but theres no way she could carry this series if Jennifer Garner left.

They can handle the pregnancy thing by having her miscarriage, or something like that.

But, I don't understand where this season is going. Rambaldi has been marginalized, so it seems they are taking another renaissance genius-fortune teller to battle against. It seems kind of lame.

i liked the first half

but not the second half after they shot vaughn and the other dude

i think it's pretty shitty that a bad guy snuck his way into APO without anyone noticing

pregnant jennifer garner is be annoying...stupid ben aflack duck

damn you ben affleck...he finds a way to mess up everything

i can't imagine them going on after this season without jennifer garner

"The Michael Vartan Watch
Two "Alias" stars are reuniting -- this time, on a rival network.
FOX has confirmed to TV Guide that Michael Vartan, who portrays Vaughan on the smash ABC spy series, will be donning a chef's hat for a guest role on former co-star Bradley Cooper's new FOX sitcom, "Kitchen Confidential."

So, does this mean that Vaughan's goose has been permanently cooked on "Alias"?

Vartan's apparent demise on the shocking season premiere of "Alias" has left fans up in arms, believing that the end has indeed arrived for their favorite character. Rumors have even run rampant that part of the blame for his supposed departure lies squarely in the hands of Vartan's co-star -- and ex-girlfriend -- Jennifer Garner.

However, in an exclusive interview with TV Guide's Michael Ausiello, creator J. J. Abrams denies the allegations about Garner, labeling them "preposterous." Further, Abrams provides some hope for Vartan fans by hinting that there may yet be some life left in Vaughan, remarking that "It ain't over till the fat lady sings."

The "Alias" guru -- who is also the mastermind behind another monster hit at the Alphabet Network, "Lost" -- advises viewers to watch for clues, and adds that "if [Vaughn] happens not to be in the episode that you're watching, it doesn't mean he's not part of it."

"

And cause he's beautiful:

God knows this show has went to shit. Yet I still watch it like a faithful lapdog. There are so many lines that just dont even make any sense...the first conversation between Sydney and Rachel before the opening credits...."What is Mockingbird?" "Its me...Mockingbird, thats me...Im Mockingbird". How many times does she have to say it for the audience to get it? Oh, and I love how when they turned the magnet off and the car dropped, whatever it was Sydney was holding on to stayed magnetized .

As for who is in the box, Im willing to bet its Vaughn. All of the other possibilities are even more far-fetched (Danny, Will Tippin, or Sark).

no doubt the dialogue has gone way down, i can't stand everytime sydney says' "i know what you're going through...i've been in worse situations...you can do this...blah blah blah...you can do it because i believe in you and you have to do it or else you'll die when you slip up and they catch you...blah blah blah

but the episodes where they start witht he cliffhangar and then go back 3 days to fill you in are always good episodes

so far i'm just taking the show for what it is: jennifer garner's last season and a rehash of the first season via the new girl

and sloane is like the villain of all villains

and i think the thing sydney stuck on the magnet was some sort of vacuum suction cup thing b/c it's what she used to cut the glass in the vault and glass isn't magnetic

and the mocking bird thing wasn't all that bad. it was sydney questioning what mockingbird was since it came up a lot in all the info they downloaded off the server. rachel just clarified that mockingbird was her codename. maybe it's a bit dumbed down, but maybe that's because they're trying o make her character very naive. and we had just heard gordon dean ask sydney about mockingbird and she said she didn't know what mockingbird was...originally i thought it was whatever they stole at the beginning...like nightingale was a device last season

yeah, it didn't like that much.

and, i didn't dvr it, but it almost looked like she was holding on to one of those mini-power magnets. you know what i'm talking about?

kinda like that one, only rounded. still doesn't explain where she got it.

it wasn't a magnet

it was the device she used to cut a circle in the glass in the vault

she had it on her because she had just used it to steal the laptop

it attached to the glass so the lasers could cut a circle

and since glass isn't magnetic, it most likely had suction

If Jennifer Garner leaves after this season, then this is the last season, period. The show has never been that great in the ratings, and the only reason ABC has kept it this long is because of the star power Jennifer Garner brings.

It went downhill sharply after maybe the 2 seasons (and that's giving it some breathing room). But, I still like it better than Lost, and they seem to be doing more sci-fi-ish spy stuff again.

If this is JG's last season though, the show will die like the X-Files did. They might try to keep it afloat, but will fail. They should really starting designing TV shows to have definitive endings, like how good anime (Cowboy Bebop, Trigun, etc.) does. It allows them to go out with a bang, and be more "artistic" in their writing and plots.

i agree that tv shows shouldn't lag on like the current trend seems to be

especially with a show like this where they start out with a goal at the beginning of the first episode

Well the biggest problem was when ABC made Abrams dumb down the show, which equated to the nringing down of SD-6. At that point, the title of the show didnt make any sense, because Sydney wasnt living a dual-life. Since season 3, shes had absolutely no one in her life that didnt know she was a CIA agent. Even in season 4 when they formed APO and she had to keep her occupation a secret again, everyone she knew ended up in APO too. Anyhow, this is the last season, I can almost guarantee that, ABC certainly didnt move it to Thursdays opposite Survivor for nothing.

The move to Thursdays wasn't to kill the show. Commercial rates on Thursday nights are higher than any other night of the week -- demand is increased because movie studios advertise the weekend's upcoming releases heaviest on Thursday nights. Networks really want to have a strong Thursday night presence, but have shied away from it because NBC had been so dominant with their "Must See TV" lineup. After JOEY and WILL & GRACE proved last season that they weren't going to carry the torch of SEINFELD-FRIENDS, all the networks jumped at the chance to take a piece of the Thursday night pie. UPN, which has put all its eggs into EVERYBODY HATES CHRIS, gave it the Thursday 8:00 timeslot. WB moved SMALLVILLE and ONE TREE HILL to Thursdays. And ABC moved ALIAS to Thursdays.
