Anyone noticed that cover charges there have really gone up? Most of the shows are at least $10 now. I remember when $5 covers used to be the standard.

are you surprised? ticket prices everywhere have gone up considerably...they're just goin with the flow.
8/26/2005 9:47:42 AM
yeah i mean i thought it was just cause attendance numbers are way down. Seems like (generally speaking) less crowds are coming out to see bands play...so club owners are having to boost cover charges to compensate. From what I've seen, the Brewery still keeps things relatively low on the cover side...but some of the prices for lincoln theater are just getting ridiculous.

It's b/c Lincoln hasn't had a decent band there in months.
8/26/2005 10:44:33 AM
^agreed
8/26/2005 10:54:28 AM
they has 2 skinnee j's there about a month ago

8/26/2005 12:13:18 PM

8/26/2005 12:17:59 PM

8/26/2005 3:33:50 PM
Karl Denson
8/26/2005 3:45:11 PM
yeah i forgot about those two, but other than those....
8/26/2005 3:45:41 PM
the futureheads are fucking awesome. In fact, when I saw they were playing lincoln theatre I was like "wtf?"
8/26/2005 3:58:03 PM
They'll never play there again, that's for sure.
8/26/2005 4:24:33 PM
never heard of them, i'll have to give them a listen.
8/26/2005 5:09:22 PM
im gonna go see sister hazel and its $15... thats not terribly bad
8/26/2005 6:48:00 PM
It's terribly bad when $15 will also get you in the door at the Cradle to see New Pornographers.
8/26/2005 11:14:51 PM
^ that shit's gonna be tight
8/26/2005 11:18:14 PM
Fuck yes, especially with Bejar doing an opening set.
8/26/2005 11:52:42 PM
Did I tell you about that time Dan Bejar lovingly slapped me on the ass?Shit was tight, yo.
8/27/2005 4:08:33 AM
8/27/2005 11:49:48 AM
I think you would be in the minority when you say the cradle is a pretty bad venue.
8/27/2005 12:20:52 PM
^ its a great venue as far as tradition goes, etc. But in the way of lights/sound system, and overall sanitation...it doesn't hold a candle to the lincoln theatre.
8/27/2005 11:42:06 PM
^you dont like the wall with nails that stick into your back??
8/27/2005 11:45:29 PM
i'm not sure if its the crappy sound or the fact that if you're shorter than 6 ft, you can't see the stage at all from more than 10 ft away.
8/28/2005 1:32:59 AM
I'm not a big fan of the layout of Lincoln Theater, or the size/height of the stage (or the bands they book, for that matter). It'll be interesting to see what the new Cradle looks like.P.S. Sanitation has nothing to do with rock and roll.[Edited on August 28, 2005 at 1:39 AM. Reason : d]
8/28/2005 1:39:36 AM
I disagree.A lack of sanitation has EVERYTHING to do with rocknroll.
8/28/2005 11:56:12 AM
True.A good rock and roll venue is like a good barbecue joint: if it's clean, it means they haven't been spending enough time on the rock and roll/barbecue.
8/28/2005 4:03:05 PM
Sometimes I piss on the floor just to make the place a little more rockin'.
