Will you exchange brain for brakes?
8/24/2005 2:17:30 PM
she can get you autographs of the rest of her motley WWE wrestling crew Degeneration X,or perhaps a copy of her sex video with the group's former leader, the notorious XPac[Edited on August 24, 2005 at 2:22 PM. Reason : IT WRITES ITSELF!!1]
8/24/2005 2:20:25 PM
That might actually be better than brain.
8/24/2005 2:24:36 PM
it takes like two sockets and a jack/jackstand at most...oh and a C clamp...i think you can handle it
8/24/2005 2:30:06 PM
a C clamp on brakes? wow
8/24/2005 3:53:06 PM
^i dont get it
8/24/2005 3:57:51 PM
to slowly force the piston back so you can get the new pads inyou know that disc brakes are self adjusting....right?
8/24/2005 4:01:45 PM
there must be good instructions somewhere on the net
8/24/2005 4:08:08 PM
instructions, by me:take off wheel via lugnutstake off caliper via big bolt or two that hold it onpads can now be removed from caliper with easepush piston back in caliper with c clampput new pads in caliperput caliper back on w/boltsput wheel back onnext wheel please

fuck the C clamp, spend $10 and get the "right" tool from sears. its use specifically for pressing back the piston. and its reallll easy to use.
8/24/2005 4:18:38 PM
well this was an opp. for someone to earn some extra cash, if they needed it as well. gg tww
8/24/2005 4:19:12 PM
^^ true[Edited on August 24, 2005 at 4:19 PM. Reason : ^^]
8/24/2005 4:19:29 PM
does the c clamp damage anything? whats the point spending $10
8/24/2005 4:20:21 PM
ive never really used the C clamp method. ive always used this tool from sears, if not then a big channel lock plier.i mean, a c clamp that big, probably like $5-7 or so.
8/24/2005 4:23:04 PM
C clamp is the right tool.I will do pads for 20, but i just left raleigh.
8/24/2005 4:23:16 PM
hah, i mean. it works just as good. but not the right tool.
8/24/2005 4:23:54 PM
^^ why were you in raliegh?
8/24/2005 4:25:56 PM
paging zxappeal

8/24/2005 8:14:09 PM
i usually buy a c-clamp from home depot and return it after im done. and dont forget new brake shins ...
8/24/2005 8:18:59 PM
Now is it really worth returning a $10 C-clamp, that you will eventually use again? Just doesn't seem worth the trouble.
8/24/2005 9:40:02 PM
i use the C shaped vise grips, for the fronts. you might need to spin the rears inward and you can use needle nose pliers for that
8/24/2005 9:56:45 PM
i have never, in my life, heard such a debate about a c-clamp.
8/24/2005 10:01:51 PM
all yall are cheap bastiodsi change my pads so infrequently that I just replace the whole calipers wether they need it or notplus, im a baller and i do it like im doing it for tv nigga$$$
8/24/2005 10:02:31 PM
Fuck a C-clamp. I have one, and I also have a tool made especially for the job.I may be able to do it this weekend, but not before, unless Friday night sounds good.
8/25/2005 1:51:39 PM
niggga i gots a K-clamp
8/25/2005 3:32:00 PM
why buy the correct tool? take a peice of flat bar, drill and tap it and run a 3/4" bolt in there, and you have one for free. the only disadvantage to a c-clamp is that it is big and awkward, but i still use one everyday at work, what the hell is the big deal?
8/25/2005 3:37:56 PM
not as good as an NGR clampmy bad ive been mistaking "c clamp" for "c clip" all this time.but still, a c clamp itself wont work on my car's front brakes because you have to rotate the piston back in. thats why I use a locking vice [Edited on August 25, 2005 at 3:45 PM. Reason : may be the same for eclipse]
8/25/2005 3:44:42 PM
8/25/2005 4:37:17 PM
changed the brakes yest. with my dad at home, he did the 1st and i did the other, yes we had the c-clamp, alot easier than i thought. i have to change the back ones soon too, now i can do it myself
8/26/2005 1:04:06 AM
did you bleed them too, or just change out the pads?
8/26/2005 1:51:15 AM
there should be no need to bleed the brakes if you are just changing the pads.
8/26/2005 2:40:29 PM
8/26/2005 2:43:51 PM
^is that drag or what?
8/26/2005 5:55:54 PM
2 mile road course. fast track, not much elevation change, but I like it!
8/26/2005 10:03:05 PM
^^^nobody at the event had a pair of channel locks you could use?
